wiced_network_up_default(...) starts with the following lines:
/* Read config */
wiced_dct_read_lock( (void**) &dct_network_config, WICED_TRUE, DCT_NETWORK_CONFIG_SECTION, 0, sizeof(platform_dct_network_config_t) );
*interface = dct_network_config->interface;
wiced_dct_read_unlock( dct_network_config, WICED_FALSE );
The doc for wiced_dct_read_lock and wiced_dct_read_unlock states that the value of ptr_is_writable should match across these two calls. And they don't. Unlock thus does not free the memory allocated by lock.
(When EXTERNAL_DCT is set, the ptr_is_writable is ignored. But this is not always the case)
Show LessHi,
is there a way to set a FreeRTOS config token like INCLUDE_uxTaskGetStackHighWaterMark without editing WICED/RTOS/FreeRTOS/ver8.2.1/Source/include/FreeRTOS.h by hand?
Show LessHi Broadcom,
One of our customer would like to use combination of STM32F205RG and BCM43341 module rather than WICED module including MCU due to price of BCM43341 wiced module.
If our customer uses STM32F205RF and BCM43341 module, is there no problem in performance and memory, etc...?
As I know, BCM43341 is BT / WiFi / NFC combo chip and our customer worries about its performance when BT and WiFi are running at a time.
If STM32F205RG is not good to use BCM43341 together, STM32F405RG is no problem?
Thanks

Show LessLooking through Alexa Voice Services Getting Started guide it seems that the only libraries they have are for Java and it seems they require Linux or a node.js server running on the device.
Considering the work Broadcom has done to support AWS_IOT, I was wondering if there was any support for Alexa Voice Services as well.

Show LessI am using SDK 3.4.0 and writing an application that uses the Smartbridge API. Looking at the details of the API in smartbridge_stack_if.c/h I do NOT see a way to register the callbacks to app_scan_complete_callback and app_scan_report_callback.
I do see the callback app_scan_complete_callback being called in: static void smartbridge_scan_result_callback( wiced_bt_ble_scan_results_t *p_scan_result, uint8_t *p_adv_data ) at the end of the scan, but no API to set the callback.
I added the following registration function in smartbridge_stack_if.c so I can register a callback from the main application in order to get the notification when the scanning is completed after scan_settings.duration_second. I will do the same for the scan report callback so I can get access to the report at the application level as well.
//Extra function for callback
void smartbridge_bt_interface_register_scan_complete_callback(wiced_bt_smart_scan_complete_callback_t ptr_app_scan_complete_callback)
{
WPRINT_LIB_INFO(( "[SmartBridge] smartbridge_bt_interface_register_scan_complete_callback - 0x%04x\n", ptr_app_scan_complete_callback));
app_scan_complete_callback = ptr_app_scan_complete_callback;
}
Please comment.
Show LessHi,
We have the NVRAM file for P305, can we use same file for P309. If no can we get any help in downloading the NVRAM file for P309 and relative firmware if there is any change in the firmware.
Show LessHello,
I am using SN8205 customize module with wiced sdk 3.1.2.
For using parse push notification i had downloaded app from GitHub - Broadcom/WICED_parse .
After giving application ID , Client ID and Rest ID i am able to create new object in nstallation class.
But this application not receiving any push notification from parse server.
Push notification service is always fails in parse_internal.c file init_parse_socket ()
after result = write_data( &client->tcp_socket, json_data_buffer, (uint16_t) printed ); line
result = receive_data( &client->tcp_socket, received_data_buffer, sizeof( received_data_buffer ), 10000 );
this recev function is returning error status.
Any help in this case would be great appreciated.
Regards,
Prashant
Show LessHello,
I've read discussions indicating that websocket protocol is not supported in SDK 3.1.2.
Since there's no snip app in 3.5.2 I assume that it's not supported yet and the implementation could be buggy.
Is this assumption true?
Will you have support in websocket in near future?
Show LessHi
I am writing steps which I took to try the snip for OTA.
1. Compiled ota_fr snip with command for WICED dev board BCM943362WCD4_EVB.
make snip.ota_fr-BCM943362WCD4-FreeRTOS-LwIP-SDIO download download_apps run
Build and app donwload finishes successfully.
2. Built snip scan with
make snip.scan-BCM943362WCD4-FreeRTOS-LwIP-SDIO
3. Connected with the AP mode published by WICED .
4. In Browser opened http://192.168.10.1, OTA web page appears.
5. browse and select snip.scan-BCM943362WCD4-FreeRTOS-LwIP-SDIO.stripped.elf for OTA download.
6. Starts download. Shows transfer progress bar running.when it reaches 100% WICED device reboots with OTA snip itself while my expectation was that it will reboot with scan snip.
7. While debugging the same observed that in function process_upgrade_chunk API named wiced_framework_set_boot ( DCT_APP0_INDEX, PLATFORM_DEFAULT_LOAD ); returns failure.
I could not able to put debug print in that API as than it started to give compilation error of some BTLDR memory exceed.
So my suspicion is that while I have been able to download the file alright in section of memory for downloaded code.
I have not been able to flag it to bootloader to pick that code from that section into main app code memory section.
Can anyone verify my steps followed and point me to if there is any mistake ?
If it's known issue than is there any solution/workaround available to try out ?
Cheers,
Shishir
