FreeRTOS is possibly the most popular RTOS existing. Why isn't it supported anymore?

We have a large code library based on FreeRTOS. Porting existing apps to WICED products (e.g. BCM94343) becomes much harder like this.

Hello Klaus,

We will be adding FreeRTOS support back into the SDK in the WICED Studio 5.0 release targeted for Q2.

Dave

Are you going to support all chips in Studio 5.0 with FreeRTOS?  If not, could you list the chips it will support.

All chips currently supported in WICED Studio 4.x will also be supported within WICED Studio 5.

SDK-3.7.0-7 is currently the latest SDK supports FreeRTOS.

I usually found new SDK breaks compatibility with older SDKs.

Can you guarantee the SDK-5.x is compatible with SDK-3.7.x to ensure the existing users can move to new SDK?

Can we have sn idea of what sdk 5.0 will have? I assume it's more thsn just bug fixes since it's a msjor rev bump. Also will it require more resources that the existing modules don't have?
