The 43362 Wi-Fi chip has a sleep clock input.

Does this pin need to be connected?

If so, what should it be connected to?

The 43362 sleep clock input MUST be connected and should not be left floating.

The pin affects power consumption in 802.11 powersave mode.

If the input is connected to ground, an internal 32kHz oscillator is used to wakeup the WLAN chip for beacon reception during 802.11 powersave mode.

Since the internal oscillator has low accuracy (about 30%), the chip must wakeup earlier to compensate for the inaccuracy.

If the sleep clock input is driven by an external 32kHz oscillator, wakeup timing is more accurate and as a result, the WLAN chip will use less power in 802.11 powersave mode.

Jason,

Can you tell me the difference of power consumption between external oscillator and internal oscillator in PS mode?

Thanks!
