The USB 3014 works fine with FPGA for FIFO downloading.

The only issue is that it doesn't detect to a cable plug-in (no response).

It works after pressing the reset, SW7.

The schematic is attached, awg_2v11_pg19_20.pdf.

Also attached is the schematic for the previous design.

The previous design worked well and did not have this issue.

Hi,

I need to send data through GPIF2 interface. For every 16KB of data i need to add header to it and send it through the P-Port.

Fx3 is used as a master and 32 bit GPIF2 interface is designed.

Example code used : AN87216 - Designing a GPIF2 Master Interface.

I was able to add header at the beginning but not able to add header at every 16KB of data?

What are the procedures to be followed for having the callback triggered for every 16KB of data sent?

When the CX3 is connected to Ubuntu 18.04 OS which is using kernel 4.16.2-041602-generic means its getting detected as two /dev/video devices.

kernel 4.13.0-26-generic             one  /dev/video device as expected

kernel 4.16.2-041602-generic     two  /dev/video devices !!! 

We have loaded the cx3_examples project "cycx3_uvc_ov5640". Is anyone seeing similar kind of issue ?

Hi,

following a former question, I'd like to know if there is some register(s) to check whether the CSI clock from sensor is correct for CX3 or not. For now we have programmed an 300 MHz clock, and I made a screen copy of what we get at oscilloscope for one of the differential clock signal. Frequency is respected and the other differential lane clock is as expected.

However I get no feedback from dma nor for LV and FV test signals (available).

If I dump the result from CyU3PMipicsiGetErrors function, here is what we get also when we comute AppStart/AppStop.

Would it be possible to have more information regarding these errors ?

I have a few question on the use of buffer size for increasing datathrougput in FX3.

If I understand correctly and according to AN86947 Cypress recommends to use a possible high DMA buffer value to maximize data throughput. Does this mean that I should only use a small number of endpoints (e.g. one) with associated high buffer to use for data exchange?

What will happen if I use multiple endpoints and call asynchronously these endpoints in software? Does this decrease possible maximum data throughput?

In the firmware SlaveFiFoSync provided by Cypress for Stream In/Out I can chose values for:

Can you explain what is the difference of DMA_BUF_SIZE vs CY_FX_SLFIFO_DMA_BUF_COUNT_P_2_U. Is the last the number of 16 K buffers allocated for GPIF to USB endpoint?

In AN 75705 it is stated that one can use two sockets? Is this only for flow control when application processors lacks flow control or will it maximize data throughput?

I am using AR0144 camera sensor which is interfaced to FX3.  I have doubt that what will be the RGB format in 12 bit data reception , for example will it be like RBG(4:4:4) or any other format. and what all the information will be there in 12 bit output data of AR0144.

Inside AN65974 example Release folder, there are 4 different img files.

But if I remove existing img files and run: Project - Build All, only one img generated.

How to generate all example img files?

I am now working on a FX3 board, this board is connected to 2 sensors, it's meant to get image data from them in a synchronous way, then output data to host via UVC.

Since this is a UVC app, so I use AN75779 as a reference, and make some amend to the sample code for AN75779.

The sensor is aptina AR0130, can only output 12-bit raw data. Since raw format is unidentifiable for host video application like Amcap, so I need to convert it to YUY2 before transmitting to host. I study the doc&code for some time, it seems this conversion process can only be inserted into CyFxUvcApplnDmaCallback. After the conversion code is added, however, it looks like the entire application stops outputting any UART message, or the app just crashes. it seems heavy overhead is not allowed in CyFxUvcApplnDmaCallback.

I realize this FX3+AR0130 probably can't output YUYV to host directly, is it right?
