If the upstream of HX2LP is HS and the downstream is connecting HS, FS, LS USB devices, are there any specification restrictions?

Are there any restrictions (differences) in the specifications when communicating with FS and LS at the same time and when communicating alternately after a certain period of time?

In the current application, the upstream is FS, so there is no problem with SingleTT.
In a new application, upstream will be HS, so I would like to confirm if there are any specification restrictions.

Thanks,
Tetsuo

Hi Tetsuo,

Could you please elaborate on your question? I didn't understand the question on specification restrictions.

Meanwhile, you may take a look at this App Note if it answers your query.

Mallika

Mallika-san,

I want to know "connectivity".

In SingleTT, when US is HS and DS is HS / FS / LS devices are connected, are there any of these three devices that cannot communicate?

I think that it possible use cases are:
Is there any applicable one?

1) When HS, FS, and LS devices are connected to the Downstream, communication with all (HS, FS, LS) devices becomes impossible.
2) HS device can communicate, but simultaneous communication to FS and LS devices is not possible.
3) Communication with LS device is not connected only during communication with FS device
4) In the case of simultaneous communication to FS and LS, the speed is pulled to the LS side, so the throughput drops but communication is possible.

If it is in the above case 1/2/3 state, is there any way to recover? If so, what should I do?
(device re-insertion / HUB reset required / communication alternately / etc..)

Thanks,
Tetsuo

Hi Tetsuo,

Apologies for the delay in response.

In case more than 1 low/full speed devices are connected in the downstream ports, it is bound to affect the USB performance.

Kindly refer to this KBA .
