i bought a light engine and it consists of cypress dual channel module. i use raspbian stretch lite. the problem is that when i attach the device with usb cable to raspberry pi, "lsusb" shows the device but no there is no node created in "/dev" like: /dev/ttyUSB0 . i installed CyUSBSerial_SDK_Linux, nothing happened. "dmesg" command shows the device is connected but no tty is bonded.

Hello,
Yes, the nodes are created only in CDC mode. When using vendor mode (I2C or SPI) libusb is used. As I mentioned earlier, please refer to the TestUtility.c provided with the Linux SDK CyUSBSerial_SDK_Linux for an example of host application to communicate with the I2C interface.
Best Regards,
Yatheesh

recent changes happened. i used Cypress usb-serial configuration utility and changed SCB0 and SCB1 from I2C and SPI to UART-CDC. now, when i connect the device to my pi, both ports is bond to ACM0 and ACM1. when i run "screen" command, like: "screen /dev/ttyACM1 9600,cs8", nothing happened. i can not send command to device. i changed and tested some options like "baud rate" "number of pins" but couldn't identify the problem.
here is dmesg results:

Hello,
In you application the USB-Serial Device is configured to vendor SPI/I2C class (PID 00A), only the devices configured as CDC class (eg UART CDC mode) which are bound to Linux CDC ACM driver will create a node under /dev/ttyACM and you can communicate with it using applications such as minicom (similar to teraterm in windows). Refer to Testing a USB-Serial Bridge Controller Configured as USB-UART with Linux® – KBA92551 .
Can you please let me know how you want to communicate with the device? You can use the TestUtility.c application as well.
You can install the CyUSBSerial_SDK_Linux from https://www.cypress.com/documentation/software-and-drivers/usb-serial-software-development-kit and run the Test utility.
Please refer to the README.txt file in the path : installation directory-> CyUSBSerial_SDK_Linux -> linux -> testUtility on how to use the testUtility.
Best Regards,
Yatheesh

i just want to send i2c command to the device, for example "\x01\x52\x02". for this purpose i need to send commands to the /dev/tty* node. in default gates settings in spi and i2c mode, the tty* node is note created. the only way that the nodes create is to set the ports as UART/CDC but then minicom or screen shows nothing and sent commands not working.

Hello,
Yes, the nodes are created only in CDC mode. When using vendor mode (I2C or SPI) libusb is used. As I mentioned earlier, please refer to the TestUtility.c provided with the Linux SDK CyUSBSerial_SDK_Linux for an example of host application to communicate with the I2C interface.
Best Regards,
Yatheesh
