USB EZ-PD™ Type-C Forum Discussions
- Example code: Any example code for CYPD3120 or CYPD3123
- PSoC version: 4.4 or 4.5
- PSoC IDE setting:
+ If using default ARM toolchain: ARM GCC 5.4-2016-q2
-> Error: Build error:
Build error: passing argument 1 of 'memset' discards 'volatile' qualifier from pointer target type [-Werror=discarded-array-qualifiers]
+ If using MDK533

We got error messages even we use default GCC or MDK. Could you help to solve the problem?
Show LessHi,
I have a CYPD3171 Sink-only application modeled after the Power Bank example, but without internal battery. So this is a sink-only application. The hardware connection is the same as the power bank where VBUS_IN_DISCHARGE on the TYPE_C connector side, and VBUS_C_MON_DISCHARGE is on the sink side of the consumer back-to-back FETs.
For the firmware, I modeled it like the power bank example (from the EVK), but I removed the source PDOs using EZ-PD Configuration Utility. When I plug my sink-only hardware to a power source, I can see a successful power contract negotiated using the PD Analyzer tool. However, the voltage monitored is at the TYPE_C connector. When I probe the voltage on the sink side of the consumer back-to-back FETs, I don't see the voltage.
Side note on additional changes: My sink PDO is a "battery PDO"-type. I defined "DISABLE_PDO_BATTERY 0" and "PDO_SNK_BATTERY_SUPP_DISABLE 0" in config.h according to instructions given by a moderator here.
Q1. Please let me know if I am missing something or need to modify additional code from the example to turn enable the consumer FETs so the power passes from the TYPE_C connector side to the other side of the consumer FETs.
Q2. My application is bus powered. There's no separate VDDD power. VDDD will be powered by the CYPD3171 internal regulator from VBUS. How do I make sure the internal regulator is enabled? In Configuration Utility, I enabled "VBUS powered" option under SKEDBE Configuration. Is that correct?
Thanks,
Jonathan
Hello,
In the USB PD 3.1 Spec, it includes:
A new adjustable voltage mode enabling a range from 15V to one of three maximum voltages
(28V, 36V, or 48V) depending on the available power allowing the device being powered to
request specific voltages to a 100 mV resolution.
USB Power Delivery Specification Revision 3.1
Do any of the Infineon's devices offer this adjustable output mode? I was wondering if it is possible to possible with anything out on the market to use USB PD to output a voltage of 24 VDC.
If not, does anyone know of other devices on the market that can provide the adjustable voltage mode?
Thanks.
Show LessWhen both CCG3 and the opposite device are DRP (Try.SRC; DRP Preferred Role=Source), if CCG3 side becomes the initial Sink, will it be in the Try.SRC state and will become Source when Sink is detected? Also, will this Power Role Swap (Role from Sink to Source by Try.SRC) always succeed?
My understanding is that Power Role Swap would not occur if CCG3 was Sink in Try.SRC, but PRS occurred on the actual machine as mentioned earlier.
Thanks,
Tetsuo
Hello,
Do the CCGx and PMG1 devices support USB Type-C authentication?
If any of the ICs support this, please provide the model number.
Regards.
Show LessHello,
I'm using the CY3176 with a EC, is there a command to detach/simulate physical cable detachment/remove Rd? I need to be able to step through all PDOs, which I can do with the HPI commands, as well as force the source to remove Vbus while the cable is still physically connected, which on other controllers has been done by removing the pull down Rd. Is something like this doable with a CY3176 and EC at runtime, or do I need a mux to break the CC connections from the connector to the CYPD3176? Thank you.
Show LessHello,
May I take the F/W of CYPD2122-24LQXI_CTD_DS ?
or Would you let me know where I can get this F/W?
I tried to find out this F/W but failed. I only have CYPD2122-24LQXI Mobile, Notebook and power-adapter.
Thank you so much.
Regards.

Hi Infineon team:
In my application, I need to configure the PD stack of CYPD4226 online with I2C master. Can you provide its detailed register list/ programming guide/ Host Interface Technical Reference Manual?
