What is the recommended connection for Exposed pad in CCG3PA? If the GND pin (P22) is connected, can the function be verified without connecting the Exposed PAD to GND?

It became necessary to replace the device. I want to verify that the device after remounting is functionally correct. However, it is very difficult to replace the Exposed PAD. I want to avoid it if possible.

we're designing an USB-C powered device which needs 20V/5A for full operation but can operate with limitations when getting 20V/3A. So I will adjust the CYPD3177 resistor deviders for 20V min voltage and 3A min amps. How can I get the information whether 5A is available or not (a 20V/5A PD contract is established or not)? Must I read the CURRENT_RDO register or is there a possibility to get this informtion via an I/O pin?

We have a scenario where we are looking at connecting custom USB-C devices downstream from our USB-C dock (with USB-C downstream as well). We would like to send / receive some system messaging between these two units (they run CCG4 and CCG3) using the CC lines since USB/DP is managed by the connected laptop etc.

We would like to be able to send and intercept the messages both internally in the CCGx FW and via the HPI-interface, if possible.

Is this possible? If yes, could you give a quick summary of which EZ-PD API to use, HPI commands and any things to consider so that the messages will not interfere with the normal PD-messaging?

Hi folks. We are unable to get the CYPD3125-based design to use MODE C or MODE E.

I am using CYPD3125. I use the EZ-PD Configuration Utility to restrict the supported modes to C or E (4-lane DP is the requirement).

I connect the CYPD3125 (as DFP) to a monitor via Type-C cable. The monitor responds to a "Discover Modes" message with support for modes C,D, and E.

After "Enter Mode", the CYPD3125 sends "DP Configure" asking for MODE D.

We require 4 lanes for DP (so MODE C or E), how can we get the CYPD3125 to configure for MODE C or MODE E?

I get a  problem that update Fireware to CYPD3171 of CY4532-EVK mian borad:

First, I uesd EZ-PD Configuration Utility to update FW to CYPD3171 successfully, twice!

Second,  third time to update CYPD3171 FW was failed;

Then, EZ-PD Configuration Utility  only can find one device(CYPD 4126),  can not find the device of CYPD3171!

I'm pretty sure the setting of jumpers is right (because I have update FW twice ).

I also use CY4500 analyzer to check if CYPD3171 is work or not, from the protocol data  packet, CYPD 3171 is still work!

Please tell me about the Source board that supports USB-PD using CYPD3196-24LDXS.

The connection destination is a smartphone or tablet, and the original plan was to connect only to Type C.

However, the specifications have changed and it is now connected to Micro USB.

(In this case, I want to exchange data without supplying power)

●5V line FET SW does not turn on with CC PU and PD alone (VBUS-P-CTRL does not output L)

　The timing when the FET turns on is after the CC communication (negotiation) is completed.

　Therefore, the FET does not turn on when connecting to the micro USB.

Is my understanding correct?
