Programming CY4501 CCG1 DVK with MiniProg3

Hello,

I am using cy4501 DVK for power delivery development.

I try to program the cy4501 with miniprog3 and PsoC Programmer, but the programming lacks the hex file in the CY4501 CCG1 DVK COMPLETE SETUP software(see photo), which means I can't power and program the board through miniprog3. but CY4501 setup file is no longer available. Is there another way to program the cy4501?

We understand that you request the setup file for the CY4501 DVK.

Unfortunately, CCG1 is a discontinued part.
Due to this, the support for this device is limited.
We can only provide the quick start guide and the user guide.
We can no longer provide the setup file.

Sorry for late reply. Can you let me know the specific requirements of your PD design. Is it power adapter/power bank, notebook or dock design?

想要开发的是一个可以给微型显示器和其他微控制器(比如fpga)进行供电的USB-C电源，电源输出应该根据Sink的需要来改变，并可以与其他微控制器进行通信(比如通过I2C)，如果可以的话，它还可以同时传输视频数据。现在我有以下问题想要请教:

1. 我找到关于ccg1的hex文件，我应该怎么把这些hex文件转换成Pscoc creator所需的项目文件(cywrk)，
2. 我应该怎么定义UFP，DFP或者DRP?
3. 同时供电和传输视频数据可以同时由一个USB-C口进行吗?
4. 我的主管还给了我CY6611 HX3PD EVK开发套件，这个套件适合此项目吗?

> 如果你手上只有CCG1的固件，是没有办法转换成project的。另外如上个回复告知，CCG1是已经过时的器件，不推荐在新的应用使用。

2. 我应该怎么定义UFP，DFP或者DRP?

> UFP - Upstream facing port; DFP -> Downsteaming facing port; DRP -> dual role port

3. 同时供电和传输视频数据可以同时由一个USB-C口进行吗?

> 这是可以实现的，type-c和usb-pd规范的目的就是将power/usb data/display port的功能通过一个type-c接口实现

4. 我的主管还给了我CY6611 HX3PD EVK开发套件，这个套件适合此项目吗?

> 具体可以参考CY6611的user guide，看上去CY6611仅能实现作为power source的功能，无法实现display port的功能。在这跟您推荐几个DVK，参考它们的user guide可以在上面搭建power source+display demo的功能
