Studio Bluetooth Forum Discussions
Hi
The documentation for the CYW20819 mentions support for regular HCI. In the ModusToolbox IDE, I didn't find something like a 'HCI Firmware', but some documents, like the WICED-HCI-Control-Protocol.pdf mentions that the device will start in HCI mode if there's no external flash or if there's no valid application.
1. Is it possible to use CYW20819 over HCI with a third-party Bluetooth stack?
2. How could this be tested with the CYW920819EVB-02 Evaluation Kit?
Thanks!
Show LessHi,
I'm using WICED Studio 6.1.0 and 6.2.0, and looking for source code named "eir.c". But there was an only object file, how can i get the source cod for that ?
Show LessI've posted about a week ago bug report https://community.cypress.com/thread/47164 regarding wiced_hal_gpio_configure_pin() with config param = GPIO_OUTPUT_ENABLE (16384), but neither the bug was fixed in 6.4.0 that was released a day ago nor the thread stay open for additional discussion or reporting the progress/result?
Not quite sure how the hardware of 20719 is realized in the chip, but currently all the attempts from code to configure a GPIO pin as output fail and the pin (supposed to be output) stays configured as input (default configuration).
So driving with code an input Low or High with attached load to it wouldn't be fatal for the chip circuit??
And what is so secret about the GPIO registers, so nobody from Cypress don't want to disclose those memory addresses? This could fix eventually the problem or at least give a clue if it is not a problem in the stack code
So how could I find when /if those and other reported bugs are fixed when the treads where were reported are closed/locked?
Thanks
Show LessI am using CYBT-213043-MESH EZ-BT kit and I am trying to compile source of Android peerapp App for Mesh given in modus IDE installation folder..
C:\Users\RAVI\ModusToolbox_1.1\libraries\bt_20819A1-1.0\components\BT-SDK\common\apps\snip\mesh\peerapps\Android
I am using Android studio 2.3 but its not compiling source code..
Can you help me with,
Android Studio Version
Gridle Version
Ndk Version

which can build this app..
I have tried my best to build the app but getting following error and there is no trace of the same..
no file found wided_bt_mesh.h in platform.h
Show LessWhat are the proper settings for the JTAG Device when debugging a CYW920719Q40EVB-01 connected via USB to an Ubuntu 16.04 LTS system running WICED Studio?
I tried using the settings from Debugging_WICED.docx (Generic TCP/IP, localhost, port 3333). I get the following errors:
Error in final launch sequence
Failed to execute MI Command:
-target-select remote localhost:3333
Error message from debugger back end:
localhost:3333: Connection timed out.
localhost:3333: Connection timed out.
I also tried using Generic Serial with a GDB Connection String of /dev/ttyWICED_HCI_UART0
Error in final launch sequence
Failed to execute MI Command:
-target-select remote /dev/ttyWICED_HCI_UART0
Error message from debugger back end:
Remote replied unexpectedly to 'vMustReplyEmpty':
timeout
Remote replied unexpectedly to 'vMustReplyEmpty':

I tried again with a connection string of /dev/ttyWICED_PUART1, and got the same errors:
Error in final launch sequence
Failed to execute MI Command:
-target-select remote /dev/ttyWICED_PUART1
Error message from debugger back end:
Remote replied unexpectedly to 'vMustReplyEmpty':

Show LessHow do I enable multiple simultaneous SPP sessions?
Hi:
I want to realise the bluetooth mesh scenes, but I can't find out any detail document about this,I want to know if anyone has implemented the bluetooth mesh scene.
I am expecting a reply !
thanks!
Show LessBecause my CYBT_413034_EVAL board stop working as before:
- - Every time before download new build I have to press “recover” and “reset” else it cant discover the device
- - Pressing “Reset” doesn’t always restart the code downloaded
- - All the examples I tried so far even when boot, doesn’t boot to the end and the examples doesn’t work properly as they worked before ☹
So my primary suspects are either some Windows update that was automatically installed in the recent days or crappy CYBT_413034_EVAL that is about only a month old ☹
Does anybody has/had similar problems?
Show LessWhen appear “Power mgmt status event: bd (14 5f 94 1c 5c 14 ) status:2 hci_status:0”,it often "SPP pool count:3 free:3 flow_off:1", so the data cannot send in time.
When appear "Power mgmt status event: bd (14 5f 94 1c 5c 14 ) status:0 hci_status:0" ,then "SPP pool count:3 free:3 flow_off:0",so data can send in time.
How can I do to keep "Power mgmt status event: bd (14 5f 94 1c 5c 14 ) status:0", Thanks!
Show LessWhen a CYW20719 device is running, we frequently get this event:
BTM_POWER_MANAGEMENT_STATUS_EVT
in the app_management_callback() function.
And the p_power_mgmt_notification->status is a value of 2.
If I'm reading the documentation correctly, this status is WICED_POWER_STATE_SNIFF
Two questions:
- What causes it to go into this mode?
- How can we prevent it, if we think it might be causing connectivity problems?
There is a similar discussion on the community:
https://community.cypress.com/thread/42098
and a suggested solution. But to the final question in the thread:
Yes,it works
but every few seconds it enter WICED_POWER_STATE_SNIFF again.
how to keep in WICED_POWER_STATE_ACTIVE?
No answer is given.
Any answer given would be appreciated.
