Studio Bluetooth Forum Discussions
Dear all,,,
Our application is using CYBT-343026-01 among Cypress BT modules.
The main module and Cypress BT module are connected in the form of a card cable,
and the function test has already been completed.
We are now conducting an ESD test at the system level, one of the reliability tests.
If 2kV is applied, the BLE module resets and ESD test fails.
When connecting the BT module to the main module of the system,
we need to advise for ESD protection and considerations for hardware design.
If you have an application note or any documents for that request, could you please provide us!
Thanks,
Best Regards,
PH
Show LessPlease need information with delay or wait process time in module cybt-343026

Show LessHi,
I am following the "CYW920706WCDEVAL Kit Guide" to view the traces on the windows with Bluetooth application Hello Sensor
I had followed "4.4.2 View Traces Using a Terminal Emulation Program" with no problem.
However, When I tried to view the traces using the BTSpy (4.4.3 View Traces Using the BTSpy Windows Application), I could not see trace messages. The Client Control and BTSpy displayed these and no more:
16:45:43.762 Opened \\.\COM46 at speed: 3000000 flow on
16:45:45.753 Startup
16:45:45.753 Set discoverable:1, connectable:1
16:45:45.753 Set Pairable:1
The Bluetooth application is built and downloaded and works well.
Thanks
Show LessHello,
"WICED-based EZ-BT Module" has obtained safety standards as follows.
- CYBT-213043-02 : EN 62368-1
RF Regulatory Certifications for CYBT-243053-02 EZ-BT™ Module - KBA228230
- Other CYBT module : EN 60950-1
"EN 60950-1" will expire on December 20, 2020, so it is necessary to re-acquire "EN 62368-1".
[Question]
Q1. Does the module which acquired "EN 60950-1" re-acquire with "EN 62368-1"?
Q2. If Q1 is Yes, I use CYBT-343026-01, so I want to know when this module gets "EN 62368-1".
Best regards,
Kenji Takahashi
Show LessBug report: wiced_bt_get_identity_address(*,*) function fails outside of the power cycle when last device was paired.
Tested with: WICED 6.2.1 on CYBT-413034- EVAL (CYW-20719)
Attached is a hello_sensor example modified with couple lines to printout wiced_bt_get_identity_address result immediately after new connection is established and connected BT device’s Public address is available.
- As soon as a BT device is successfully paired/bonded, wiced_bt_get_identity_address returns status Ok and correct identity address on every connection to the same BT device
- As soon as CYW 20719 is reset, with any further connections to the same paired/bonded device before, wiced_bt_get_identity_address returns status Fail and wrong identity address is reported in the result parameter.
If you publish the code behind the wiced_bt_get_identity_address function might give you more serious hint what could be wrong there, but right now – just wild guess – the IRK etc. data stored in the NVRAM and restored after reset to address resolution database is not enough for wiced_bt_get_identity_address to works properly.
Thanks
Show LessHello,
Sorry if this is a stupid question. I need a virtual COM port between MCU UART and Bluetooth. Some competitors' products have a mode in which you can use the Bluetooth module as a peripheral device connected to an MCU.
The "CYBT-483039-02 EZ-BT™ XR WICED MODULE" has great specs and would be a strong alternative, but it is not clear if what I want can be done or how much work it would require.
I have looked at the below links:
https://community.cypress.com/docs/DOC-16170

Also, the user forum doesn't work properly with Firefox.
Thanks in advance
Niclas
Show Less1. I am using CYBT-413034-EVAL.
2. I have tried programming CYBT-413034-02 present on CYBT-413034-EVAL. I powered up the board using external dc power supply of 3.3 V (by connecting to VDD and GND pins present on J3 connector). I did not connect the USB port of the eval board to the PC. I pushed all the switches of SW4 and SW5 to OFF position.
3. I connected TTL level signals of HCI UART (namely UART_RXD, UART_TXD, UART_CTS, UART_RTS present on header J1) to another board with RS232 transceiver present on it. The RS232 level signals were connected to the PC DB9 connector.
4. Please remember that I selected the following setting in WICED Module Programmer GUI
CYBT-413034-02 for Module Name
UART Adapter Board for Programming Board
Baud rate as 115200 under DUT Serial Port Setting
CTS flow control is ticked under DUT Serial Port Setting
4. The log in 1.jpg shows this.
5. The log in 2.jpg shows after resetting and recovering the board.
Please help.
Show LessHi
The customer is trying to develop a small product and is currently struggling with module placement. They would be grateful for any advice on the placement.
Please let us check the 3 items.
1, According to 7.3 described in AN96841, it is described that there is a significant effect within 7mm in 7.3.1, but the minimum clearance of 5mm in 7.3.2.
If the distance to the resin part is 4mm, will it be noticeably affected? (They want to get a 1mm margin)
2,Is the recommended clearance for AN96841 7.3.2 from the module edge or the antenna pattern?
3,Does the module require resin and distance in the horizontal direction as well?
Please refer to the drawings for details.
Thanks
Yang
Show LessAre there any wiced functions that can use to write some custom (user defined data). Let say I want to write and read a simple uint8 in the AON memory?

Show LessHi Cypress,
Our customer is asking if WICED SDK supports for the API for "Security Request" of BT Spec 3.6.7?
Customer wants to request security from slave to master like as following BT Spec 2.4.6 Slave Security Request.
As you can see BT spec, slave device can request security by transmitting a Security Request command to master device. I am not sure if WICED SDK supports for API for this command. If so, could you let me know what's the API?
For your information,
- WICED SDK : 6.3.x
- Cypress chipset : CYW20721
Thanks,
Liam
