Studio Bluetooth Forum Discussions
I am using CYBT-343026-EVAL with WICED 6.1 now.
To know how the board is going,I want to debug.
For example,To know how [hci_audio_gateway] is going,
what should I do,and how to do,Could you Please teach me.WICED Studio BluetoothWICED Studio Bluetooth Forumsbroadcomwiced-adminmifo
Show LessHi,
I wanted the measure the "CYW20719" power level in the complete band 2402 to 2483, so can anyone teach me how to change the frequency & power level.
I found the detail in HCI commands list, but i'm unable to understand which register and what value to be update in below format. So can you help me to understand register settings.
The example below turns the carrier ON and instructs the CYW20706 to transmit an
unmodulated pattern on 2402 MHz at 3 dBm.
WICED-SmartReady-SDK\Tools\wmbt\Release>wmbt tx_frequency_arm COM4 1 2402 0 0 3
Sending WICED HCI Command:
0000 < 19 10 08 0B 00 01 14 FC 07 00 00 00 00 08 03 00 >
how to send these commands to evaluation board. Is their any software to send the commands
Thanks. . . . . .
Show LessHello,
We are currently in the process of proof-of-concepting a software model that implements both the A2DP Sink and Source on one 20719 module.
We have had a few calls in with Cypress to confirm that both of these profiles are available for the 20719 since there had been some confusion about which profiles were currently supported and which were not.
I have a couple questions about all this:
(1) There exists both a wiced_bt_a2dp_sink.h and wiced_bt_a2dp_source.h in the /include/common/ directory, but it doesn't appear they were meant to be included together in the same application because they each include definitions for a few of the same structs (wiced_bt_a2dp_codec_info_list_t and wiced_bt_a2dp_config_data_t) and therefore create type conflicts. Which is fine, I can move that definition elsewhere, but should I? Is there another approach I should take here?
I also looked at the source code in /libraries/common/a2dp_sink_profile, but linking to that library fails due to an undefined reference of the wiced_audio_sink_configure() function.
Can someone please make a recommendation on which files, libraries, demo projects, etc I should reference for trying to develop an application that supports both the Audio Sink and Source profiles?
(2) Is there any plan for Cypress to provide an A2DP Source library?
Thank you so much,
Kendall

Issue: Bluetooth Invalid Curve attack.
Ref:
http://www.cs.technion.ac.il/~biham/BT/
https://www.bluetooth.com/news/unknown/2018/07/bluetooth-sig-security-update
Summary
Bluetooth firmware or operating system software drivers may not sufficiently validate elliptic curve parameters used to generate public keys during a Diffie-Hellman key exchange, which may allow a remote attacker to obtain the encryption key used by the device.
Impact
• An unauthenticated, remote attacker within range may be able to utilize a man-in-the-middle network position to determine the cryptographic keys used by the device.
• The attacker can then intercept and decrypt and/or forge and inject device messages.
• The attack exploits the vulnerability on both participating devices simultaneously. If any one of them is patched, the attack does not work
• Every Bluetooth chip manufactured by Intel, Broadcom or Qualcomm is likely affected.
• In addition, the Android Bluetooth stack (Bluedroid) is affected when using Bluetooth smart.
Potential Impact
• Potentially all products listed in this link below will be susceptible
o https://www.nxp.com/products/wireless-connectivity/bluetooth-low-energy-ble:BLUETOOTH-LOW-ENERGY-BLE
• Impacted vendor in the CERT CC website: Cypress/Broadcom BT modules are impacted.
Since NXP i.MX6q/dl/sl/sx/ul/7d series products use Cypress/Braodcom bcm4339/bcm4356/bcm4343 modules, now bluetooth LE is not secure, NXP request to get formal patches for firmware/kernel/bluez bluethooth to avoid Invalid Curve Attack.
Show LessI have tried both OSX and Windows 10 using the notes and instructions. I have also installed the platform files per the knowledge base. In both instances WICED can't download or see the boards. I have also tried putting them into recovery. I doubt that both boards are bad.
What am I missing here?
Show LessHi,
My customer has a plan to use this module in Australia.
However ,this module seems not to pass RCM(AU / NZ regulation) according to following link.
If the customer would like to pass regulation of the region which Cypress still not pass , not only AU but also others,
does Cypress pass it instead of the customer in customer expense ?
Or, should the customer pass it by themselves.
In this case, the customer needs module design file, such as schematic , gerber file and BOM of the module.
Thank you.

Show LessAs per this document, we can place our code in the On Chip Flash, and have it run directly from there. However, I can't seem to download my code to the flash. I have tried adding the -BASEflash argument to my build target, the build console output still tells me my application is in RAM (If I increase my executable size to ~400KiB, then the device no longer works, which seems to line up with it stored in the application RAM). Adding -SPARflash results in a build error because it can't find 20719B1_flash.ld.
How does one download an application specifically to flash?
And if this is not possible, am I able to access the gigantic 1MB of flash to store my own data?

Show LessHi,
Q1: Could you provide antenna specification.
We need to know antenna gain and radiation pattern like following document.
Q2: Do you have module HW design guideline?
The customer is concerned stainless plate will block radio of the module because there is a such stainless plate in the customer application.
Usually module supplier is providing design guideline to satisfy radio performance so we need to know whether Cypress ready such document.
Q3: Can Cypress support the customer to review module placement based on 3D or layout file of the customer system ?
Thank you.
