Hi

We found the transmission output level setting range is "-25dBm to +3dBm"
from [Manufacturing-Bluetooth-Test-Tool.pdf].(In "9 Radio TX Test" ,  page 11)
(+3dBm is also MAX value for "Continuous Transmit Test" on page 9)

But, we confirmed data sheet of CVBT-343026-01 found
that the maximum output can reach +12dBm when Bluetooth_Classic.

We want to know if the Tx output can reach +12dBm?

Thanks

Yang

Hi jiang-y_3107936,

Yes, CYBT-343026-01 do support till +12dBm.

Here is the similar thread: CYBT-343026-01 Tx output power for Bluetooth Classic on mbt

Also, this blog post might help:Configuring Transmit (Tx) power on the CYW20706

Hi

Thank you for your cooperation.

Customer checked the similar thread and the blog,
and they do not want to modify & set the source code level.

First, could you tell us how to set +12dBm if we want to confirm with MBT command only?

Next, could you confirm whether the attached "Manufacturing - Bluetooth - Test - Tool.pdf" is the latest version?
Last, have you "Manufacturing - Bluetooth - Test - Tool.pdf" for CVBT-343026-01(CYW20706)?

Thanks

Yang

You can check the Radio Tx/ Rx test section in this app note.

The pdf version you attached is the latest one and there is no specific app note for CYBT-343026 or CYW20706.

I checked the Radio Tx in MBT, got the below message.

tx_power = (-25 - +3) transmit power in dbm

When acquiring radio certification in Japan,

which value did you get MAX Tx_power? (+ 12 dBm or + 3 dBm)

Thank you for your cooperation.

I checked the below TestReport.
a, 1752099R-RF-MIC(BT 3.0)-EZ-BT Module-CYBT-343026-01;CYBT-343029-01;CYBT-143038-01-V1.0.pdf
b, 1752099R-RF-MIC(BT 4.0)-EZ-BT Module-CYBT-343026-01;CYBT-343029-01;CYBT-143038-01-V1.0.pdf

I have some questions for RF Test Report.
1, Did you use the MBT(in WICED) for RF testing?
2, If yes, I think the current MBT can't get test results similar to TestReport.
Max tx_Power value of MBT is +3dBm, then the output power is >+3dBm on RF Test Report.(See 7page,18page...)
Could you please provied us the MBT that can be used or update a patch file for MBT.
3, If no, could you clarify your test method for us?

Reason for this question:

We recognize that the MBT command is necessary to operate only CYBT-343026-01 in products
that implement CYBT-343026-01 in the EN300-328 test and radio certification test in each country.

If BR/EDR operation on the data sheet states Maximum Tx_Power is +12dBm,
I think that it is inevitable to think that spurious measurement
in the transmission output state of +12 dBm is necessary.

And, in spurious measurement with CYBT-343026-01 alone and spurious measurement
on CYBT-343026-01 mounted on a board designed by another company,
the occurrence of spurious may be different.

Even in spurious measurement at EN300-328, frequency and packet type are specified using the MBT command,
but the transmission output can only be performed up to +3dBm.

The RF testing is done by testing team, not the applications team. The MBT available in latest WICED is the updated one and testing is carried out with the same tool which is released to the customer.

CYBT 343026 do support more than +3 dbm power. For your application, if you want you can manually set the power as specified in Configuring Transmit (Tx) power on the CYW20706 .

Hi

Could you share the information to your testing team?

We already know that this module is SIG certified.

Customer wished for the value of the certification report, but you replied that it could not provide it.
Please see the below link.
https://community.cypress.com/thread/43391?et=watches.email.outcome

Because the customer is first to develop Bluetooth,
They want to confirm the radio wave output information of Bluetooth by themselves for technical evaluation.

Not for revamping SIG certification.
It is just for confirmation for customer's technical evaluation.

I repeate the questions for RF Test Report.
1, Did you use the MBT(in WICED) for RF testing?
2, If yes, I think the current MBT can't get test results similar to TestReport.
Max tx_Power value of MBT is +3dBm, then the output power is >+3dBm on RF Test Report.(See 7page,18page...)
Could you please provied us the MBT that can be used or update a patch file for MBT?
3, If no, could you clarify your test method for us?

Thanks

Hi jiang-y_3107936,

Unfortunately my answer will remain same. I will suggest you to get in touch with your local Cypress contact for more details on the test methods and reports if this is a critical issue. This is internal information and we cannot provide it to the customer.

The link you provided concludes the same I suppose.
