Smart Bluetooth Forum Discussions
Dear WICED BLE Forum,
According to "Bluetooth Low Energy: The Developer's Handbook", page 81, there are seven types of advertising packets:
ADV_IND, ADV_DIRECT_IND, ADV_NONCONN_IND, ADV_SCAN_IND, SCAN_REQ, SCAN_RSP, CONNECT_REQ.
How may I generate ADV_NONCONN_IND or ADV_SCAN_IND in my WICED-Smart application? In particular I would
like to advertise/broadcast dynamic information at a low data rate while I am connected to a central device.

Show LessI tested OOB with uncommenting OOB_PARING.
Although I changed OOB key as I like, all Broadcomm BLE central can recognize and connect.
If OOB is available in SDK2.0.1, Is there any rules to make OOB key?
Thank you.
Show LessI have two related questions
(1) Is there any way that I can place a security key in an area of the EEPROM that will not be overwritten in an OTA? (And thus also the key does not need to be included in the OTA image)? Currently I am writing it into the NVRAM on the first boot-up, which means it need not be included in the OTA image, but I wondered if there is a more convenient way to do this.
(2) Is there a way to prevent someone from dumping the firmware image from our device? I noticed the "DFU key" in the BTP file - if I customize this key, would this prevent someone who did not have that key from dumping the firmware?
Show LessIf I use the option
filter_duplicates = HCIULP_SCAN_DUPLICATE_FILTER_OFF
I get way too many ads.
So, I currently use the option
filter_duplicates = HCIULP_SCAN_DUPLICATE_FILTER_ON
But then I miss Ads that I want, or I don't get them immediately
I currently send out an add that provides a value that can be incremented.
Is there a filter (or way) that will signal me when the content of an Ad changes?
Thanks, Mike
Show LessI'm working on WICED SMART SDK 2.0.1.
I try to send several bytes through UART which baud rate is 19200.
but there is delay between first byte and second byte about 2msec when I enabled message trace by SW2 ON.
With SW2 Off, no delay.
Can anybody help this issue?
Show LessAbout my BCM920732TAG_Q32 board. I'd like to evaluate peripheral UART by connecting with my laptop. I have a FTDI TTL-232R-3V3 cable. But the connector size is different from JP1 on the TAG board. Does anyone have good idea about this? Please tell me the part number suits for it if any?
Show LessAs i know from Forum, current BCM920737 support mutl-user clients with BLE capability, but I can find its related application code or BLE layer API for developer to design his app. codes. Do we need to wait for new SDK release or which header files for reference. TKS.
Show LessI was playing with the smart designer feature to help me get a basic app skeleton going last week. After I updated the SDK this morning (from 2.0.1), the option no longer appears in the File->New sub menu. No mention of this omission in the changelog. Is this deliberate or an oversight?
Show LessOur application implements OTA upgrade. We recently inadvertently upgraded a 20732 based board with firmware for the 20736.
Is there any method to recover from this? When I try to reprogram the bricked device over serial it fails saying it cannot load the minidriver.
Is this device permanently unrecoverable?
