Smart Bluetooth Forum Discussions
Hello,
with our own design board based on 20737 QFN we want to use puart with rts/cts so we need P0, P1, P2 and P3. We also want to use an eeprom like in the smart tag bcm920737tag-03 that we use for tests.
But as mentionned in other discussion, in the smart tag P1 is taken by the WP of the eeprom, so we would like to use in our design the P4 for the WP (or another free gpio).
Will this be working with some modifications in the include files and what are the modifications we need to do ?
thanks for help
JP.
Show LessContinued from this closed thread: Wiced Sense hardware timer example

Could you please describe what you see?
If you want glitch free PWM transitions, you might want to use pwm_transitionToSubstituteValues() instead of pwm_start in the timer interrupt handler. Other than that and the fact that the timer is too short, this is the right way to use the timer. Have you tried longer timer intervals?
Show LessAfter i register the call back function for client write as following:
legattdb_regWriteHandleCb((LEGATTDB_WRITE_CB)hello_sensor_write_handler);
and in the call back function as following code:
int hello_sensor_write_handler(LEGATTDB_ENTRY_HDR *p)
{
UINT8 writtenbyte;
UINT16 handle = legattdb_getHandle(p);
int len = legattdb_getAttrValueLen(p);
UINT8 *attrPtr = legattdb_getAttrValue(p);
}
The "len" value got back always equals the characteristic defined value length, not the actual data length sent from the server, is there any suggestion??
Show LessHi,
According to the above blog post, the duration of deep sleep can be configured anywhere from 64mS to ~36 Hrs with internal LPO.
What would be the consequence of specifying the value that's shorter than 64mS or longer than 36Hrs? Does that simply result in bad time accuracy?
Show LessHello Team,
My customer need to know if the device BCM20736, he can slightly modify, on his carrier, the footprint PAD' s device stretching outward, for easier inspection and if necessary, rework.
If so, He would like to know also how many millimeters we can expose PAD outward.
I suggested 2mm, what do you think?
Thank a lot

Show LessHi,
I have problem with debugging applications. I don't get messages from module when using ble_trace commands.
Isn't working for all demo applications included into WICED Smart SDK.
Strange is that I don't get any activity on UART HCI_TX,HCI_RX module (chip) pins when application is running - checked with oscilloscope.
Projects building and loading works fine. In the loading stage can be observed activity on HCI port (as expected).
Is there a special setting into IDE to enable debug - trace feature ? I missed something else?
I'm using the last WICED smart IDE.
I have configured : Trace->Com port setup:Use COM port last used for download and activated Trace->Start Receive Debug Traces.
I tried with two different boards, WICED sense kit and Anaren msdk1 board. Both with BCM20737. Same negative result on both.
Thank you very much for your help.

Show LessSo i have ordered a Wiced Sense kit and here is my use case :-
1. I need to read data from the sensor(lets say humidity and pressure)
2. I then want to use my java application which does some data processing and outputs some results. These results may or may not be transferred to an android device.I understand that that everything is downloaded on to the device using the SDK which is in C but if allowed , i can call the java runtime from within the C code but i am not sure if this will work
So does the wiced sense have a java runtime and can i make this use case possible ?
Thanks
Show LessHi,
Per this thread here: Maximum data chunk lenght when calling bleprofile_sendWriteReq|Cmd (con't)
I'm also in the same situation where I need to read long characteristics on a BCM20737 in a central role from a BCM20737 in a peripheral role. The read from an app (i.e. light blue) works with the BCM20737 in a peripheral role, but I don't see a way to make it work from the central role.
Is this supported? And if so, how can I make it work?
Show LessHi
My WICED sense worked fine with the original firmware.
However, after building and loading image using WICED-Smart-SDK-2.2.0, I start seeing problem where WICED sense shows up for a second in WICED sense apk on my iphone and then disappears. I could NOT pair it with my iphone.
From UART trace,
Broadcom Debug Port: BLEAPP CFA debug

Then nothing happens afterward. WICED sense device fails to invoke advertisement stopped callback
Occasionally, success case appears where WICED sense always shows up on WICED sense apk. I could pair the device with my iphone. Also, when advertisement stopped callback is invoked :
Adv stopped, powerind down sensors, enabling wake
I could press the wakeup button to resume advertisement.
The same problem also happens with SDK-2.1.1 with WICED_Sense_SDK 2.1_1.3Final.zip
Could you please give me any advice?
Thanks a lot.
Mario
