PSoC™ Creator & Designer Forum Discussions
Dear Cypress:
I'm using Creator 2.0. I've not yet given 2.1 a try, but if the following are not yet included in 2.1, would you consider adding them someday?
1) JK and/or SR flip flops.
2) JK and/or SR latches
3) The ability to decrement (not just increment) an address (source or destination) with the DMA transaction descriptor.
Yes, I know I can (and eventually probably will) make my own JKs via UDB roll-your-own component. Well, I'm inexperienced, kinda dumb, and really lazy, so I'm hoping one of your fine engineers will just do it for me. 🙂
Show LessOne suggestion, when a DVK is installed, along with that Creator becomes
"aware" of DVK pin usage, such that when picking a pin to place one can
see in pin assignment view what is already selected or comitted to pin. Along
with a description, eg. LED1.....Even a DVK pinout view tab or selection.

Show LessThe only way you may have noticed this improvement is when you hit the limit with PSoC Creator 2.0 before and tried the same project with higher speed again using Version 2.1. This change may not seem important until you hit the ceiling and suddenly there is nothing more important than the increased speed of a peripheral.
The new version if PSoC Creator offers improvements in 2 major categories:
- Version 2.1 is easier to use with features like rubber banding and the new document manager
- It generates faster hardware implementations using the same silicon by using improved routing
If you have not upgraded to PSoC Creator 2.1 yet, think about it, there are so many improvements waiting to be explored.

Show LessDid a number of kit and other updates, all went fine until this one.
Repeated attemps same URL error, looks like update has a bad link reference.

Show LessHoly cow, some of the new features in version 2.1 are amazing. I was just browsing through the PSoC Insider Blog and found a very interesting list of possibilities that come with Creator 2.1
Did you guys know that it is possible to set a breakpoint during debugging when a switch changes its state? I did not but it comes in handy to know when something is toggeling. Clicking inside the schematics to set a breakpoint, that is quite unique.
Guess this new Creator version will keep surprising me for a while. Hopefully it's all good surprises.
Show LessFirst of all, this could definitely be a user issue but here is what happened:
I opened Creator 2.1 and 2.0 at the same time using 2 monitors and searching for differences.
There are not many but the most upfront visible changes are a so called document manager and sample designs which can be used instead of an empty screen when I create a new project.
I selected the Design04 with Fan Contoller and it asked for a component update when I was using Creator 2.1. Indeed, my Fan Controller component was V1.20 while there is a new version 2.0 available.
Here is the question:
Can it happen that the new components are overwritten by the old ones when both versions of Creator are open at the same time?
Anybody else experienced strange behavior while having 2 versions of Creator open?
Not a big deal for me right now but I would like to avoid this in future.
Show LessAre there any plans to merge PSoC Creator with PSoC Designer??, it is really a time waste to have two design paltforms. PSoC designer is very boring to learn.
