PSoC™ Creator & Designer Forum Discussions
Is it possible with psoc creator to debug without hardware present, like an instruction set simulator? What is the "Debug without programming" option do in psoc creator?
Does imagecraft offer this option as a stand alone product? I think that IAR offers this...
many thanks
Show LessHi,
perhaps a dumb question, but does anybody know to which interfaces the STDIN, STDOUT and STDERR streams are going on PSoC? Is this documented anywhere?

Show LessHi,
I'll make a bootloader for the PSOC 4 BLE. I have a workspace with 2 project example BLE_Shared_Memory_Bootloader and Bootloadable.
It works well with BootloaderHost tool. But I would like to debug my bootloadable app with PSoC Creator 3.2 SP1. In the project Bootloadable I can not Debug (F5).
How to debug without going back each time by BootloaderHost?
Thanks,
Eric
Hi,
It is possible to use SDCC from within PSoC Creator? I like use 8051 processor for a job that is too big for a free Keil version.
I guess there must be others who like the PSoC Creator environment, but also wants the free SDCC.
Can you give a short step by step explanation of how to set PSoC Creator up with SDCC?
Best regards,
Show LessHi,
I'm curently in the process of trying to insert a PGA between the Mux and ADC in the ADC_SAR_SEQ_V2.0 component in PSoC Creator. I've been trying to follow documents such as this and this which describe how to import an existing component to be edited and included in another project as a custom library. So far most of the process has gone well, but when I go to drag my custom components onto a schematic I continually get errors from PSoC Creator:
- There is an error associated with this component. The instance 'PGA_ADC_SAR_SEQ_1', of component PGA_ADC_SAR_SEQ, contains an error. Failed to load assembly, 'C:\Users\Nick\AppData\Local\Cypress Semiconductor\PSoC Creator\3.3\customizer_cache\PGA_ADC_3748c3ea94858d9808e78abb453b5699ac18abaebfd756d40d1610e4aa3ccadd.dll'
- Error in drag-drop operation : There was an error during binding.
Failed to load assembly, 'C:\Users\Nick\workspace\PGA_ADC.cylib\PGA_ADC.dll'
There seems to be plenty of warnings that something has gone wrong, but none of the error messages give me any hint as to why or how to fix it. I'm running PSoC Creator 3.3 on Windows 10. Any help would be much appreciated.
Show LessCan anyone post me PSoC4 series optical heart rate monitor project?
I am new to Creator, having used Designer for many years.
I am working on a PSoC4 BLE project.
There seems to be some random behavior with breakpoints.
When the code hits a breakpoint it often cant be continued again, it simply sticks at the same breakpoint.
When code hits a breakpoint, and another breakpoint is then added, the code never stops at the added breakpoint even if it reaches that point.
When setting a breakpoint "on the fly" the Bluetooth connection is randomly lost even though the break is not reached and the code is still running.
Is this expected behaviour?
Show LessI feel dumb asking this question. It is more of a C language question but I can't find a good answer from online search. I am using the PSoC5LP GCC compiler.
I create a new .C file in an existing project. When I declare a new variable as uint8 or uint16, it is flagged "unknown type name 'uint8'. " If I declare it as int, the error goes away. When I open other auto generated .C files, they have uint8 and uint16 variables.
Why can I not declare unsigned and size in a c file?
at sudden, whenever some code write, 'assertion failed' happened.
I read some topic about this problem, and cypress employee said 'solve it after 3.2'
but No.
what can i do?
PS. some solution that write code 'assertion' read , but my problem is not concerned about that.
Show LessHi there,
I am using a CY8CKIT-043. Using Bridge Control Panel, I can communicate with the Target Chip. Is there driver support for doing the same from my own program running on the PC?
I tried using the "USB-Serial Software Development Kit", but that only seems to support dedicated USB Bridge Chips, not KitProg. Any help would be appreciated.

Jakob
