AN60630 shows how to increase the efficiency of 8051 code in PSoC® 3 by making greater use of the 8051 core internal features.
This can result in smaller code size in flash memory, as well as faster code. The efficiency gains can be realized without writing any 8051 assembler code. Instead, keywords for the Keil 8051 C compiler are used. Several coding techniques are shown.

AN2099 describes a topology for a single-pole infinite impulse response (IIR) filter. It includes equations and software to implement this topology; the associated example projects give the user access to filter routines in either assembly or C.

In many applications, you need to apply a post-processing digital filter on your data. A common example is the filtering of data from an ADC. This application note shows an IIR filter that can be constructed using the CPU (without any addition digital filtering hardware) and the equations necessary for calculating the roll-off frequency (f0). A comparison with the moving average FIR filter, which is commonly used for filtering digital data in a CPU, is also shown.

AN66627 describes how to configure PSoC 3 and PSoC 5 applications to independently control up to 16 fans in a single device.

This application note demonstrates how to quickly and easily develop fan control/management systems using the supplied FanController system-level component. The component supports up to 16 pulse width modulator (PWM) controlled 4-wire fans and through an intuitive graphical interface, enables designers to quickly configure the number of fans, their electromechanical properties, organization into banks (if desired) and the control algorithm type - firmware or hardware based.
