PSoC™ 5, 3 & 1 Forum Discussions
Hi all, as refer to this topic http://www.cypress.com/forum/psoc-5-device-programming/i2c-hmc5883l-compass , I'm using the same module and trying to use the compass but have some troubles settings up I2C connection with the compass.
I have tried following scenario:
1) Use I2C_MasterSendStart() but the program stuck at I2C_WAIT_BYTE_COMPLETE loop
2) Use I2C_MasterWriteBuf() the program runs but I keep getting the same values even though I move the compass around.
3) Pull up resistor of around 5.5k
I have attached the archive file and looking forward your answers.
Some reference for compass:

Hello Everyone,
I am started working on the PSOSC 3 EVB i would like to configure timer for 2sec and 5 sec interrupt (button press detection) so i cant able to execute both logic in an simple way so i request can anyone provide me some suggestions or ideas or examples how to configure the timer to detect the button pressed for 2 sec follwed by the interrupt exection and then 5 sec button press followed by timer interrupt execution any hlep will be greatly aprreciated
Thank you

Show LessHello,
I'm currently trying to use JTAG EXTEST instruction to characterize a custom component attach to my CY8C5287AXI-LP095 (TQFP 100) without any success
Reading at the BSDL file (CY8C58LPXXX_TQFP100_4JTAG.bsdl) it's written:
This CY8C58LPXXX TQFP100 BSDL file supports 1149.1 testing only after two of the following conditions are satisfied:
1. The JTAG port is enabled.
2. All IOs are pre-configured to drive out fast strong high/low.
JTAG access can be enabled either through programming NV-Latch bits appropriately or through using test-port acquisition protocol. The IOs may be pre-configuration either by writing port configuration registers directly through a test port, or relying on a programmed boot sequence which does that to complete automatically. Testing other IO configurations requires changes to this file and the pre-configured IO configuration.
JTAG is enable by default on chip from factory, and I have successfully achieve accessing IO configuration register and output value register (succesfully toggle a LED) through the jtag chain using programming svf file generated adding access to those register.
However after doing so I'm still not able to use Sample/Preload and Extest jtag instruction.
Does anybody know something I may miss or could provide an example of SVF file achieving this ?
Thanks
Is there any way to connect two analog multiplexers together directly? I'm trying to build a conductivity meter that inverts the drive and sense terminals, and creator is complaining that the analog muxes are connected without another component.
Show LessHello Everyone,
I want to do the following:
1. I want to generate an interrupt on the rising edge of the comparator output, in order to set an external DAC.
2. I want to generate an interrupt on the falling edge of the comparator output, in order to do sampling .
I thought to place a pin and put interrupt on it.
I attached the project zip file. Can you please have a look on sheet A (Ch_A) and give me your suggestions.
Looking forward to your reply!

Show LessHi
I am using CY8C21434 for CSD application . But i am not able to sense more than 3mm distance. scan speed, resolution parameters are ideal as per mentioned in datasheet for proximity sense. using sample code "MF_CS_PROX". So please suggest me how to increase sense distance. in my project i needed this distance atleast upto 8-10mm.
Show LessHello Bob,
im using a ICE + PSoC1-EvalBoard and read "AN73212 Debugging with PSoC®1, Chapter 4.4/Events-Viewer " and "AN15576-PSoC®10-Detecting, Debugging, and Correcting a Stack Overflow, Chapter:Capturing Stack Overflow", but where can i find the overflow or shoud i look. Maybe in Memory or Trace or CPU Register?
In AN73212 stands "e.Enable the ‘Break’ checkbox. This will cause a breakpoint to occur whenever the conditions defined for the entire event state evaluate to true." --> nothing happend.
Hello,
I'm new to the psoc and I'm trying to get decent values from this laser distance sensor: https://www.pololu.com/product/2476
I'm trying to get the ADC to operate within the proper voltage range listed on the site (3.6 V at 10 cm to 0.6 V at 150 cm) but can't figure it out. I've tried using the -Input +/- Vref function to get that exact voltage range but something is wrong. If I use the Single Ended option and play around with the "Input Options" and "Reference" sections of the ADC I can get a little closer but at this point I'm just changing around parameters that I don't understand and hoping that I get what I need.
I need some direction, any help is much appreciated.
Thanks!
Show LessHello,
im receive some data (RX) via UART :
1. convert it (atoi()) into a Integer,
2. conver it (itoa()) into a String and sent it (TX) via UART.
Meanwhile, reading 2 voltages (dualadc) and output (dac8) one voltage.
Problem -> If i comment-out all ADC and DAC Code, the UART Communication works fine. But with all User-Moduls + miniCode the UART Communication is faulty (irregular).
:: What can i do?
Settings:
Global Settings = 24Mhz, (Vdd/2)+/-(Vdd/2), SC On/Ref High
UART = 9600, Sync to SysClk,
DUALADC = 8 Bit, CalcTime 45, DUALADC_HIGHPOWER, PGA_1_HIGHPOWER, PGA_2_HIGHPOWER,
DAC = DAC8_HIGHPOWER
Thanks for your reply.
Show LessHi,
I'm on the final year of the university so started to look for a Embedded Systems related job, then i saw that a lot of job offerings on automotive industries requires you to know OSEK OS [1].
The unique RTOS i knew about was FreeRTOS, but OSEK seems to be a automotive standard OS, and all the documentation is available online.
So, there's someone that knows about this OS?
Any chance to know if it's possible to make a post to use the PSoC 5LP?
I will try to investigate further and try to make the port, but i'm very new to OSes :/.
Thanks in advance
Carlos
