Hello,

My new cy8ckit-147 kit is not recognized by the psoc creator v4.2.  I've tried creating my own program and selecting a pre-coded example.  I receive the attached message.  ie, the board is not found.

Any help is appreciated.

Dear Shawn-san,

From what you wrote, I think that your board is sound.

But the KitProg may be in its CMSIS-DAP & Mass Storage Mode,

if Status LED (LED3) is OFF.

If it's the case, please press SW3 Mode switch.

For more details, please download CY8CKIT-147 PSoC 4100PS Prototyping Kit Guide.pdf from

Hi,

I would recommend you to try

(1) Download and install CY8CKIT-147 PSoC 4100PS Prototyping Kit Only File from

https://www.cypress.com/documentation/development-kitsboards/cy8ckit-147-psoc-4100ps-prototyping-kit

(2) Download and install the newest PSoC Programmer from

Dear Shawn-san,

Thank you for your trying!

Now I'm suspecting the connection between the board and your PC.

If the board is sound and connected, you will see "KitProg USB-UART (COMxx)"

in your Device Manager > Port (COM and LPT) something like below

(Sorry, my Windows is Japanese Version, and the screen shot is for CY8CKIT-043)

device_manager.JPG

Please make sure that CY8CKIT-147 is connected to your PC via USB port.

(1) The contact part of the USB connector of the board is touching with the contact part of you PC's USB.

(2) Check if the POWER LED2 of CY8CKIT-147 is turned on. (So power is provided)

(3) Start PSoC Programmer and check if it detect the board.

And if it detects the board, please use "Utilities Tab > Update Firmware" to update the firmware of the board to the newest one.

And if it does not detect the board, again check if the board is connected correctly and the Power LED is on.

I hope that if you clear all (1), (2), (3), the board should be visible from PSoC Creator.

Or if (2) fails the board could be broken, then you should contact the dealer you purchased the board.

Thanks Motoo Tanaka

I tried your advice. The kit is detected on the com port. I have a screen shot below. I updated the firmware as you suggested. I then tried to program my hex file in the programmer but failed. I then went back into Creator and I receive the below message when I try to program the board.

Should I return the board?

Hi Motoo Tanaka

It works now. I had to update the device library in the Tools > Find new devices menu.

Thanks for your help

Shawn Gerber

Please click "Port Acquire" button on the "Select Debug Target" dialog.

When this button is clicked, a RESET is asserted to acquire the debug target via SWD.  Attached snapshot is a case of my CY8CKIT-146 PSoC 4200DS Prototyping Kit.

If you do not see any device under the KitProg3, there may be a hardware trouble on your board.
