PSoC™ 4 Forum Discussions
Hello,
we've recently upgraded one of our projects from using PSoC Creator 4.1 with BLE component version 3.40 to PSoC Creator 4.2 with BLE component version 3.53.
The BLE component is configured as a server which should be (and previously was) discoverable by any capable device.
However we later discovered that after the transition it stopped working for the Android 8 phones we tested, while it still works with older Android phones as well as iOS and macOS devices. On Android 8 it doesn't show up on either the CySmart App or not even on the OS level.
We did not change anything in the component settings. I've attached some settings for reference.
Any ideas where the problem might be?
Thanks,
Christoph

Show LessHello,
I would like to check the reason why MBR3 require pulled-up on I2C line if the pins is unsed.
Basically, I2C should be used by pulled-up but if I2C is not used and does not connect to anything device, MBR3 is not controlled ever after even if MBR3 enter stard condition. So I think we can be pulled-down on I2C line.
Please let me know the reason MBR3 need pulled-up.
Best regards,
Show LessWe are planning to consider using CY8CKIT-049.
We are going to proceed with reference to "CY8CKIT-049-4xx PSoC R 4 Prototyping Kit Guide".
However, "CY8CKIT-049 4xxx Kit Only" and "CY8CKIT-049 4xxx Kit Setup" can not be installed.
Kit Only
Kit Setup
Therefore, We would like to provide us a sample project of "CY8CKIT-049-4xx PSoC R 4 Prototyping Kit Guide".

Show LessWe are using the CYBLE-022001-00 module, and attempting to communicate via I2c with the module being a slave. We can not get a response from the module.
- Using ports P5.0 and P5.1
- Clock and Data signals look good to the module
- Have tried all available settings for SCB block including 100 and 400khz as well as both fast and slow skew
Looking for suggestions.
Show LessWe have a serious issue and cannot resolve it, please see if you can help.
On Android, when pairing, we get no services, once the pairing is accomplished via multiple reconnect events and it connects, it will work fine afterward. We are prevented from going to production because of this concern.
When we pair, with a fixed pairing code, we get an error of no services, and sometimes the BLE stack gets stuck and thinks it is connected, but the app, ours or CYSMART gets a no services response.
1. We have the crystal trim code in our BLE start event
2. We have regenerated all UUIDs in 128 bit mode
Our bundle is attached, please help out as soon as you are able, this is an urgent matter.
Show LessMy application size id 10% and bootloader is 2%.
I want to save 2 application images on Cypress internal flash as I don't have external memory, but have spare internal flash.
Whenever required, I can jump to image 1 or Image 2 based on switch on the device.
Questions:
- Is there a way that I can have 2 images on cypress flash ?
- If yes, is there a way where I can decide which application image I want to jump (give flow control)
- If there is any sample project or application note ?
Dear forum members,
we would like to update the firmware trough OTA. We actually do this but now it's required to handle an encrypted firmware.
As far i have seen PSOC4 is not supporting this. Means we have to switch the platform maybe to psoc5 or so? Or is there
a better solution which doesn't end up in so many changes in the electric schematics? Read there is required an external
memory.
Thank you for any advice. Kind regards,
Daniel
Show LessMy project is a single waterproof cap touch button on a car body. The button sensor is a FPC 10mm diameter pad. Th FPC is 0.25 mm thickness. On the top layer, the button is surrounded by shield electrode and guard ring. The question is that the bottom of the FPC should be a Ground hatch or shield hatch. What is the weakness or strength if we place a shield hatch at the bottom of the FPC
Besides, the button is surrounded by metal car body. What is the minimum distance between the shield electrode and metal car body
Show LessHello,
I'm using the CYBLE212006-01 and I'm trying to upgrade my application to use the Fixed Stack OTA. At the moment I try to get the example to work, but it doesn't advertise and the LED is just blank.
Did anyone had this problem aswell and fixed it?
