Hello everyone,

I am facing this issue with the CapSense tuner that I cannot seem to troubleshoot.

I am using CYBLE-222005-EVAL  Connected to CY8CKIT-042-BLE Pioneer dev board and MiniProg 3

I have a simple capacitive sensor connected to the dev board. I am trying to use the Capsense Tuner to tune the sensor output

I am using the example from PSoC creator "PSoC4 CapSense Low Power-One Button"

Once I try to establish the connection to the tuner, I get this error "There was an error reading data from the device "

I added screenshots  below of the configuration parameters for both the Tuner and EZI2C

I would like to ask if someone faced this issue before, and how to resolve it,

Your help is very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Hi @ThWe_4461836 , This issue typically happens when there is an issue in the I2C settings or the I2C connections. Miniprog supports I2C connections in the 5 pin connector and not in the 10 pin connector. From what I see, you have used the 10 pin programming connector between the miniprog and the module. For the I2C connection, you need to make the following connections between the 5 pin connector and the pioneer kit base board.

I2C pins are the SDAT and SCLK. Connect the ground together and Vtarg if required.

Thank you so much.

It turns out that was my issue; I was not connecting the SDAT and SCLK pins properly.

I appreciate your help.

Hi @ThWe_4461836 , Additionally, if you are powering the kit using the Miniprog 3, you need to give the power settings in the Tuner communication setup as required and not as external. Do you have an external power source for your kit other than  Miniprog3?
