Nor Flash Forum Discussions
Hello,
I think that it is possible to read other banks as usual during sector erase by issuing a Sector Erase command for a certain sector, but what about Program and Erase operation?
(For example, Program to SA22 (Bank 1) when Sector Erase SA23 (Bank 2))
Will the command itself be ignored or will some kind of error be output?

Show LessDear Sir/Madam,
I am considering S29GL064N11TFIV10.
Q.
It is necessary to set the timeout for writing processing to Flash ROM on the system.
Therefore, I would like to know the maximum value of "Total write buffer program time".
*
In the data sheet of S29GL01GS/S29GL512S/S29GL256S/S29GL128S, the maximum value of "Buffer Programming Time" is listed in Table 5.4 on page 43.

I want to know the maximum value of "Total write buffer program time" of S29GL064N like this.

Show Lesshello,
Im updating my design and need a replacmend for micron PC28F00AP30TFND (parallel nor).
i was thinking of S29GL01GT however im having truble to find the appropriate CFI compatible with the old micron.
i dont know what to choose from this list:
Model Number (CFI Version, VIO, and VCC Range)
CFI Version 1.3
03 = VIO = VCC = 2.7 to 3.6V, highest address sector protected
04 = VIO = VCC = 2.7 to 3.6V, lowest address sector protected
V3 = VIO = 1.65 to VCC, VCC = 2.7 to 3.6V, highest address sector protected
V4 = VIO = 1.65 to VCC, VCC = 2.7 to 3.6V, lowest address sector protected
CFI Version 1.5
01 = VIO = VCC = 2.7 to 3.6V, highest address sector protected
02 = VIO = VCC = 2.7 to 3.6V, lowest address sector protected
V1 = VIO = 1.65 to VCC, VCC = 2.7 to 3.6V, highest address sector protected
V2 = VIO = 1.65 to VCC, VCC = 2.7 to 3.6V, lowest address sector protected
please help.
Thank you.
Show LessHi everybody,
We are designing a board with the S25FL256L device. Reading through the datasheet we saw note (4) on page 6.
The notes states that we can use a single footprint for both the FAB024 and the FAC024 BGA package types.
The problem is that the location of the A1 balls in the two package types have different shifts from the edge.
This forces us to design a bigger keep out zone, and set a different shift for each device we use, something we are looking to avoid...
How do we go about designing a single footprint for both devices?
Did anybody else encounter this issue?
Thanks in advance,
Yan Rosh
Show LessIs S29PL032J70BFI120 pin compatible to S29GL032N90BFI010?
Hi everyone. I am working with the S29GL01GP device. When I try to program the memory, I see that the RY/BY pin goes high before the estipulated time of 60us (tWHWH1). I am measuring around 7 us.
I also figured out that when this happens, the data is not programmed. Is this some kind of warning of "write not successful"?
Thanks for your help.
Show LessHi All,
Can anyone provide me parallel NOR flash driver for S29GL-S.
OR
Please provide me polling syntax in case of sector Erase and word writing for same PART number.
thanks

Show LessI am trying to understand what will happen to a NOR flash after a single sector is erased to the maximum capacity:
1.- How do you expect this sector will behave (in terms of malfunctioning) when writing and reading?
2.- Will this defective sector have any influence in the other sectors that have not been used?
