Hi,
I am using I motion solution designer to tune my motor controller (IMD111T).
I can see some fault has triggered and the motor stopped.
Have no idea what this fault could be.
How to find the type of fault that occurred in I motion solution designer ?
I have another question, how to set up field weakening with this new tool?
I cant find this parameter in this tool.
Solved! Go to Solution.

Hi @Vel,
In the new iMOTION Solution Designer if there is a fault in the motor, it will be displayed as a red radio button on Motor Control Faults as shown below.
I have another question, how to set up field weakening with this new tool?I cant find this parameter in this tool.
Thanks for pointing this out we will inform this to our internal team.
For now, you can try enabling field weakening by the script using variables:
FB_FIELDCONTROL.IdFwk , FB_FIELDCONTROL.FwkLevel and FB_FIELDCONTROL.FwkLevel
For more details please refer to : Getting Started with iMOTION™ Solution Designer
Please let us know if any further details are required.
Thanks,

Hi, Krupashankar,
Thanks for your reply.
But in my case fault has triggered and there is no red indication on fault radio buttons,as you can see in my image.
Is it Imotion solution designer still a beta version?
Do you recommend using Imotion solution designer or MCE wizard and MCE designer ?
Cheers ,Vel.

Hi @Vel,
Can you please tell us exactly at what condition the motor stops? is it during Start or during running state etc...
- Field Weakening parameter is located in the Config Wizard after clicking “Motor Control Configuration > Control Regulators”. After navigating here, please verify that you have “Expert mode” enabled (enabled by clicking one of the green/white logos that’s located in the top-right corner of the Config Wizard) in order to see the field weakening parameters. There are three questions relating to field weakening, and also four variables that can be utilized in Scripting, pictured below:
iMOTION Solution designer is a new highly integrated, feature-optimized motor control solution. It needs few minor updates and same will be fixed in the newer versions.
Thanks,
Krupashankar

Hi Krupashankar,
Good to know the place to find filed weakening parameters,
In my case the fault triggered just after launching dashboard. Even after clearing the fault, it occurs again & again.
Cheers,
Vel.

Hi @Vel,
Can you please let us know if you are facing the same issue with MCE Designer?
If the fault is identified in MCE Designer, This will help us to identify the exact fault which is not displayed in Solution Designer.
Thanks,
Krupashankar

Hi @Krupashankar ,
I had no faults with MCE Designer. The fault was seen only in solution designer Also, I did not find as many parameters listed in solution designer which are available in MCE Designer.
At the moment I am using MCE designer along with MCE wizard. I did not try the same system (motor + controller) in the solution designer once again. I will let you know if I try in future.
Cheers,
Vel.
