Current (Magnetic sensor) Forum Discussions
Hello everyone,
I am Liu Yuanxun, a Ph.D. student from the Institute of Plasma Physics, Hefei Institutes of Physical Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences, based in Hefei, China. I'm currently working on a project that involves precise measurement of magnetic field strength and direction around a 4kA DC wire, within a range of 5 to 30 meters. Our target is to achieve an accuracy of ±1% for magnetic field strengths ranging from 10 to 200μT.
Given the specific requirements of our project, I am reaching out to this knowledgeable community for advice on selecting the most suitable sensor. We are considering both Fluxgate Magnetometers and Hall Effect Sensors for this purpose, but given the wide range of options and specifications, making the right choice can be challenging.
Could anyone here share their experiences or insights on selecting such sensors for similar applications? Specifically, we are looking for recommendations on models that can provide the required accuracy and range for magnetic field measurement in the context described. Additionally, any tips on best practices for deploying these sensors in the field would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for taking the time to read my post. I look forward to any advice or recommendations you can provide.

【Question】
Which pins need to be connected between the CUR SENSOR PROGRAMMER and TLE4972 when writing data?
Hi all,
I'm using TLI4971-A505T5-U-E0001 to measure current of H bridge DC motor. I want to use Aout in Analog output mode. But when motor start, sometime Aout jump in to Communication mode, that makes analog reading wrong.
Can you give me the troubleshooting?
Thanks!

I have an application where we need good current sensing resolution at both high and low current operation. We are considering using a 120A and 25A TLI4971 devices in series. During high current operation the 25A device will saturate and we would use the output of the 120A device, otherwise we default to the 25A device.
If we put both devices in series and properly heat sink both devices for 120A operation is this an acceptable application?

I understand that some versions of the TLE4971 are perceived to be capable of measuring a current of up to ±120A internally, depending on the product.(iCR)
However, when referring to the datasheet, the TLE4971's Nominal current is specified as ±70A.
Is there a way to detect ±120A using iCR with the TLE4971?
Show LessCan I program the TLE4971 using any other method than XENSIV™ - TLI4971, TLE4972 current sensor programmer utilitary board?
Even I don't see many details about programming this sensor with the programmer board.
