Hi,
I was trying to set BMI via XMC flasher and DAVE.
But, there were some problems occur after I click Set BMI button.
After clicking the button, I closed pop up window and trying to connect but it doesn't work with the error message.
Does anyone know about this problem and how to fix it? Show Less

Hi,

I am using XMC1400 CPU card and trying to implement CAN. I got 2 ways to implement it as describe in book kit.

1) Using DAVE App:

I am using DAVE with version 4.4.2. I tried exact same way as discussed in book kit but still I am not able to transmit any messages.

2) Using simple project.

I was trying to configure the CAN node using the function XMC_CAN_Init, but I got into indefinite wait time in this function.
Can anyone suggest me the correct process to configure the CAN Node without using the App.


I am also confused about the Global CAN configuration and CAN Node configuration.
As when using App we are configuring both, but when we are not using APP, whether we need to configure both or not.
Can anyone make me clear the difference between the two?

Hi,

when trying to set up the AD-Converter with Dave (I am not using the Apps) I am facing some problems. I cant get any results from the converter even if I follow the instructions from the reference manual and the application note for the ADC. I am using a XMC4500 relax kit. Here is my initialisation sequence:

First of all it is not possible to write in the GLOBCFG register. When debugging and using breakpoints, the write control bit can not be set. The write control is always disabled. If I dont apply the reset all registers related to the ADC contain the value 0xffffffff. How comes that? There doesn't occure any value in the result register.
I applied a poti at P14.0 to change the measured value.
Any suggestions?

I'm using a Hexagonal XMC4400 board (XMC4400 F100K512) and I cannot read the register BFLNP from the ADC groups when I de-assert the peripheral reset.

I also noted that in the debugger the register value is 0, instead of the expected default value, 0xFFFF.

Am I doing something wrong?

Dave 4.4.2 & XMC4500 relax lite

I have an app where I continiously sample 6 inputs on the ADC and transfer their values to memory via DMA, which is all set up nicely and working like a charm, all using DAVE APPS.

With the ADC values I then do a whole bunch of calculations and then use USBD_VCOM_Sendstring() to write the result values to a virtual serial port on the PC.

The above all works fine, I just don't need and want to go through the whole slow process of formatting the resulting integer data into a string with snprintf.

Thus my question:

What is the correct hardware destination address for the USB VCOM that I have to use in setting up the DMA APP? so I can transfer calculated integer values from RAM to the virtual USB serial port

Hello everyone,

I have an issue with the USB. I read via I2C a temperature sensor and send the value to the pc. The problem is the float value is wrong. I checked it with the calculator but the decimal places are zero every time.
I send both values MSB and LSB, temperature (float) and a test value (float) to my pc. The test value is correct but the temp value is wrong.



Why I receive 21.0000 and not 21.875 (calc: 1*16+(94/16))?

Hello everyone,

I have a very weird Issue with the UART of the XMC 2 Go.

When I manually inline a function ; which calls "UART_Transmit"; into the "main" function,
the transmission of the message to the computer works.
If I extract the code into a separate function --"TimeTasks_run" -- then the transmission fails and
inserts some seemingly random Characters.
This should definitely not happen.
I have attached the complete zipped DAVE project.

In case you don't want to download the zip archive, but rather generate the app on you own,
just generate a XMC-2-Go project with a default 'UART' app, rename the instance to 'DEBUG_UART' and change the Baudrate to 115200.
Then replace the code in the 'main.c' file, with the code from here.
You can then switch the configurations by inlining the code from "TimeTasks_run".

Please let me know if you can replicate the issue, maybe with other devices, the AA, or the AB Step.
I don't know what step I have, as there is just a "B" or "BS" at the end of the engravings.

Hi there,

I am trying to read a one wire device using a UART to 1-wire adapter with an XMC4800 as the microcontroller. While I can read much of the information coming back from the UART-to-1-Wire device, I am having a lot of trouble reading the specific aspects I want.
For instance there are many native 1 wire commands such as SKIP-ROM, MATCH-ROM etc. Individual chips then have their own specific commands for performing functions they are defined for.
Using the current method, I have to send both types of commands (native 1-Wire and the chip's specific commands) using the UART app with DAVE. The UART adapter chip will convert the UART signal to a 1-Wire signal and return any data to the XMC which the 1-wire chip has sent back.
I'm analysing these signals with an external signal reader and can see that all the bytes have the correct values. The issue lies with my implementation of the Dave UART app, in that often it will send back old bytes which I do not need nor want to read.
For example, it will send back the return bytes from some of the Native 1-wire commands, which I actually don't need to read at the point time. Meanwhile, it is as if these data bytes are stored so that later when I attempt to read back more important data, these bytes will be forced into the array I have created for the important information.
Is there a FIFO register which is being filled up with this information, eventhough I'm not asking for the information to be read programmatically? Is there a way to clear this register, so that when I want to start reading information I will immediatley get the most recent data bytes instead of ones that were sent ages ago?

I'm implement an opc ua server on the xmc4800 automation board. I've tried to use the Matrikon SDK, but now i'm trying with the open62541 https://github.com/open62541/open62541.
I've followed the instructions for the LWIP implementation, that include adding the following defines to the lwipopts.h file
