Hi everybody,

the XMC4500 errata-sheet states an errata for Pins 4 and 5 of Port15. The corresponding bits in the PDISC-register cannot be written to 1. For the case of this bit being 0 the reference manual says: "Digital Pad input is enabled. Analog and digital input path active". So, doesn't this mean I could use the corresponding pins as digital input or analog input? However, the errata-sheet says "Software that reads P15_IN will read undefined values for P15_IN[4,5]"...so it seems to be bad to use the affected Pins as digital input? Any clarification about what I can do and what I can't do with these Pins would be appreciated.

Niclas

Hi,

does the XMC4700 also have this issue? From the errata sheet I got from here http://www.infineonforums.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2080&d=1456301517 it seems that this errata still exists but in this thread here

http://www.infineonforums.com/threads/3806-XMC4700-Errata-Entry-USIC-Parity-Mode

it Looks like there could be copy-paste errors in the errata-sheet for the XMC4700.

Hello Niclas,

My understanding is that the error in the XMC4700 errata sheet is limited to the USIC topics.
Therefore, for the mentioned erratum PORTS_CM.001, this is still relevant to XMC4700.

In this case, the two pins effectively should not be used as General Purpose Digital Input since for this functionality, the IN values are required.
However, analog VADC functions should still work fine.
