Many people have asked, and the answers typically quote the documentation, but don't address the true question: Are parts with different designator increments Form, Fit, and Functionally identical?

I had designed XMC1301T038X0064ABXUMA1

I now only find XMC1301T038X0064ABXUMA2

Are these parts identical?

If not, how can I determine the difference?

The "Orderable Part Number OPN Translation Table" @ https://www.infineon.com/cms/en/product/search/opn/orderable-part-number-opn-translation-table/ implies there was a change in temperature range or ROM code...

4th and 5th digit: Designator

The designator increments (e.g. from A1 to A2) whenever a new SP number is set up that does not differ from a previous product in either Salesname or the first three OPN suffix identifiers. Product variants such as different temperature ranges or ROM codes can therefore be recognized by the designator.

Hi,

For the difference between these two product:

The designator increments from A1--> A2 is done whenever a new SP number is set up, which does not differ from a previous product in either Salesname or the first three OPN suffix identifiers(XUM). Sometimes the designer number will be changed when the temperature range or ROM codes change, but for XMC1301T038X0064ABXUMA1 and XMC1301T038X0064ABXUMA2, it is the same, the only difference is the SP number. You can order these two product according to the SP number, but I think that the A2 is more common. Hope this can help you.

BR,

Owen
