There is no MP3 decoder within XMC4500. You have to source for a MP3 decoder chip.

...or you could do mp3 decoding in software. I think there is a project on the web called helix player. Link: https://datatype.helixcommunity.org/Mp3dec
In theory you can utilize the DAC on the xmc4500, but I dont know if it fits well for playing music...
