Infineon xmc4700 relax kit, getting started questions

Hello, I've mostly just used the atmel and dsPIC family of microcontrollers, but I would like to try this out. Mainly, I just want to initialize the xmc4700, set all the necessary bits in the various registers, and get to programming. I don't really know anything about how to get started. I read through what I thought was the datasheet here:
http://www.infineon.com/dgdl/Infineon-XMC4700-XMC4800-DS-v01_00-EN.pdf?fileId=5546d462518ffd85015190...

But it didn't have any information on setting register bits, etc... for things like initializing analog to digital channels, setting up things as inputs/output, initializing a UART, configuring the 6 PWM channels (3 high and 3 low) and getting it insync with the analog to digital conversion interrupt, etc.. I do motor controller design and would like to just port my code over, and start making use of floating point. Is there a datasheet that describes how to get the chip set up? Also, what should I download so I can start writing/compiling C code and flashing the little relax kit development board? I also got a mini wiggler. Is that a loose equivalent of a pickit3? So I would plug that in somewhere to the board and debug the code?
I guess I"m wondering, is there a tutorial on the XMC4700 for people who come from the perspective of the dsPIC30F family?

Hi Paul,

most ARM Cortex derivates have a datasheet for the specific chip and a reference manual for the line of chips. In the reference manual u find the discription of the peripherials and the registers.
http://www.infineon.com/cms/de/product/microcontroller/32-bit-industrial-microcontroller-based-on-ar...

have a look at this page. And consider the application notes for the different peripherials also, these are quite good.
