"shaper" is talked a lot about in the reference sheet and datasheet for the XMC1400. No where I have found is it explained what it actually is / does.
A little help please? A link to the documentation?
Thanks.

Hi,
so in short lines shaper is used for noise suppression. As you can imagine, due to the fact that oscillator is connect directly to the PLL, sudden spikes or noise on the PLL input can cause unwanted behavior of the PLL. For this reason, a shaper is used and it should be always enabled. Why is listed here in such a vague terms; there are some legacy (and testing) reasons why the bypass mode is kept but default (and recommended) behavior is to keep the shaper enabled and not bypassed.
Best regards,
Deni
