I'm guessing I need a udev rule to get the serial port to show up. Anyone able to do this? I've tried on both Ubuntu 15.1 and Linux Mint 17. Not USB ports show up in /dev
Here is the output from lsusb. This is from Linux Mint 17. The output from Ubuntu only include the first Broadcom device, not the second secure processor.

LSR's Sterling-LWB 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi® and Bluetooth® Smart Ready Multi-Standard Module provides your customers with more options, more certifications and a greater variety of antenna options, which altogether provides greater flexibility to meet the challenging requirements of many wireless designs. This certified module is based upon the Broadcom 4343W chipset, and supports IEEE 802.11 b/g/n, BT 2.1+EDR, and BLE 4.1 wireless connectivity. The module comes in three configurations to best address specific applications, and features an industrial temperature rating (-40° to +85° C) and an industry-leading breadth of certifications and antenna options.
Product samples and development boards with an SD card form factor are planned to be available in the 1st quarter of 2016. LSR will begin working with select customers immediately to successfully design the Sterling-LWB into their wireless product applications.
Practical Applications:
- Security & Building Automation
- Internet of Things / M2M Connectivity
- Smart Gateways

Show LessHi,
I'm trying to add BLE functionality to the the demo/aws_iot/shadow app. The issue I'm seeing is once I enable the BT stack, the Wi-Fi side of things stops working. In fact, the BT side doesn't work either outside of successfully broadcasting ADVs. I'm targeting the BCM4343W_AVN platform.
Note that I'm able to work with the BLE-standalone snips that don't use Wi-Fi such as ble_proximity_reporter. They behave as expected.
Question: When enabling both BT and Wi-FI, what's the appropriate procedure for doing this? What order do I need to call the enabling APIs (ie, wiced_bt_stack_init(), wiced_network_up(), etc) and when do I call them? Are there any rules I need to follow in terms of allowing time for the stacks to initialize?
Show LessWe are currently developing a product using SPIL BCM4390 based module, SB-WM-N03. However, we found that the EVB boards we have cannot associate AP properly. We have tried both with 3.1.2 SDK and 3.3.1 however, both showed failures.
We also tried with BCM43362 module and it worked OK. We tested this with IP time AP without Security enabled.
If we turned this to AP mode, it works OK.
I am wondering if there is anyone experienced this issue before. It seems that the issue is very basic functionality.
Hope to have some clarification from BRCM.
Thanks

Show LessIs there a way to configure the wireless bands that are available in different geographic regions. (e.g. Japan, Europe, etc) other than using the Windows location?
I'm using BCM94352HMB.
Show LessHello,
I have a problem with the source code bellow in SDK 3.4.0. When UART 2 receives a data of 1 byte, the thread calling never stops. I do not if the problem comes from the RTOS or UART lib. However, this source code is working fine in SDK 3.1.2.
Thank you for your help

Hi,
I am currently using WICED over SN8205.
How to perform OTA without external flash?
Consider that if we can rearrange the Internal Flash to have Bootloader/DCT/OTA-App/APP0.
On OTA trigger, the APP0 will reboot and boot to OTA-App.
The OTA-App can then reflash the APP0.
This implementation would not require the use of External Flash and as the Bootloader/DCT/OTA-App together is small, there should not be any size concern for APP0.
Can this be implemented?
Regards,
Karthik
Show LessHello,
I am using SDK 3.3.1, my application size is 770kb. my flash size is 1MB. so only way i can do OTA upgrades is through external flash, can anybody please tell me how can achieve OTA using SPI serial flash?
Thanks,
Raghu
Show LessHello,
I have purchased SN8205 module and I can successfully download Scan application into SN8205 module using JTAG Olimex programmer as well as SN8200 Evolution board. I am using Wiced SDK version 2.4.1. I am using below make target.
1) JTAG Olimex programmer:
- snip.scan-SN8205x-debug JTAG=Olimex_ARM-USB-TINY-H download run
- snip.scan-SN8205x JTAG=Olimex_ARM-USB-TINY-H download run
2) SN8200 Evolution Board
- snip.scan-SN8205x download run
Now problem is scan application couldn't start to execute and also couldn't receive debug prints over UART. By debugging this issue I found that program is stuck in "Wiced/platform/common/ARM_cortex_M3/STM32F2xx/stm32fxx_platform.c" file with below line.
"while ( RCC_GetFlagStatus( RCC_FLAG_PLLRDY ) == RESET )
{
}"
I couldn't understand why program is stuck at this line. Please help me to understand this issue.
It would be appreciated if I get any kind of suggestion for this.
Thanks,
Nipam
Show LessI have an app that is based on FreeRTOS ver. 8 and will not build on current WICED SDK.
Has anyone ported new FteeRTOS to WICED or have suggestions on how hard that
might be?
