Is there any publicly available official firmware for the SDIO-based chip 43456 found in e.g. Pinebook Pro? There is a firmware distributed by Manjaro at https://gitlab.manjaro.org/tsys/pinebook-firmware/-/tree/master/brcm , but there's no information about its origin and it's crashing often with 5.11.x kernel on Fedora 34. I opened an issue on Github in the firmware repo, too: https://github.com/cypresssemiconductorco/ifx-linux-firmware/issues/1 .

Hi,
As mentioned just a few hours back in the github "the 43456 chip is owned by Broadcom, so I think you can get in touch with them.

Hi Rathann,
Could you create MyCase technical support?
Then ask to provide FW for brcmfmac on CYW43456
=========================================================
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
Official brcmfmac firmware for 43456 chip is missing. There are some firmwares for this chip floating around the internet, but their origin is unknown and it's crashing the kernel (5.11.12).
Describe the solution you'd like
I'd like Cypress to submit official firmware for this chip to Linux kernel upstream or at least provide it here under a redistributable license so that it can be included in Linux distributions like Fedora.
Describe alternatives you've considered
Swapping a different Wi-Fi chip would be alternative, but it'd be best if the Wi-Fi in the Pinebook Pro worked out-of-the-box.
