I have a client using the warp7 board with murata 1DX module with Cypress/CYW4343W.

Is this supported with the latest FMAC driver?  I built a kernel with the latest FMAC [2019-10-31] following the README for Linux Stable v4.14.77 but when I run it I get an error in the log that it failed to load the firmware .bin file and I don't see the wireless come up.

If I build with the freescale community bsp (Yocto thud) which supports the board (imx7s-warp), I get a linux 4.20.0-rc6 kernel with a brcmfmac driver, is that just an older FMAC driver?

They imported the Yocto meta-layer for the imx7s-warp from another BSP but this overrides the preferred kernel and pulls in 4.1.32 in which then it becomes a kernel source/header file headache for FMAC.

The current Yocto BSPs all support the imx7s-warp ( 4.1.32 up ) and have the bcmdhd and brcmfmac drivers within, the brcmfmac doesn't actually work but as it's close to FMAC as far as I know - it may be a good starting point for a possible port?

Can we provide some guidance on how to enable this feature? for reference this works ok on the iMX7d board, just not the WARP one."

We want to use the latest driver to help diagnose or prevent some connection issues that were observed with an older kernel and driver.

Hello everyone, when I designed the board using the BCM43438, I started the WL_REG_ON this pin and thought that the chip should have worked properly and that the measurement of each voltage was correct. But when I measured the voltage at both ends of the crystal, I found that there was no voltage, what was the reason? I use what seems to be the official recommendation of 37.4MHz crystal and 12pF capacitor.

To output debug log, I suppose I have to define DEBUG and enable the definition of real brcmf_debugfs_fws_stats_read() which outputs multiple parameters.

If I managed to re-produce the hangup, which parameters to look for as general indication of  hangup?

I am in the process of upgrading to the 2019-05-03 release of the FMAC driver and I noticed today that this release is no longer available in the community site and that 2019-10-31 is now available.

Was it removed on purpose because it should not be used?  Is 2019-05-03 safe to use or should I skip this release and use 2019-10-31 instead?  I am using the Murata 1DX module (CYW4343W chipset).

I am trying to attach LM832 to my raspberry pi compute module. However i am not able to attach or find it. I think it will not require external drivers.

I am able to detect mmc1 as module. But on driver load I get

I have several questions.  First, thank you for maintaining a helpful and knowledgeable community. 

• Is this most up to date manual of the wl mfgtest utlility: CYW43XX Technical Information - WL Tool for Embedded 802.11 Systems ?
  • Is there a batch/script file in the WICED SDK that outlines wl commands for evaluating spurious frequency
  • My overall feedback is the wl tool needs more common scripts to assist customers with FCC 15C and CE-RED -- why do we need to reinvent the wheel?
    • There are some example scripts/commands in WICED SDK (path: ./43xxx_Wi-Fi/libraries/test/wl_tool/scripts)
• I would like WICED community to share recent ARM 32/64 builds of the `wl` utility
  • I am using kernel v4.19 and v5.3.y, prefer newer kernel
  • I am evaluating two chipsets:
    • BCM43430/CYW43430/CYW4343W
    • BCM43438/CYW43438
    • For those reading, you can find the mfgtest firmware for these chipsets in the WICED SDK (path: ./43xxx_Wi-Fi/resources/firmware/)
  • Need util compiled for both architectures
  • Can you attach to this thread, or shared on cypress github (Cypress Semiconductor Corporation · GitHub )
  • These binaries need to be treated as a release -- perhaps you should bundle it with FMAC firmware releases?

• Where is the official repository for up to date ARM binaries of the ​wl​ utility?

I have a microcomputer running an embedded version of Linux 4.1.15-2.0.1. How do I use the wl utility in WLTEST mode?

I am evaluating the FMAC driver v4.14.77-2019_0503, as posted here: Cypress Linux WiFi Driver Release (FMAC) [2019-05-08]

Some of these patches do not apply to hostapd_2_7.  Is there a version of the hostapd patches which would apply to that release?  Or is hostapd_2_6 the only recommended version?  I note that yocto "warrior" uses wpa_supplicant 2.7, and yocto "zeus" uses wpa_supplicant 2.9, so this is likely going to become a common question.
