Dear Cypress Community,
I am using the FX3 SuperSpeed ExplorerKit but I cannot find which are the minimum PC requirements for best data transmission performances.
I am interested in knowing:
- Oldest compatible Windows Operative system version
- 32 or 64 bit operative system
- Processor
- RAM
- Type of USB Port to use on PC
Thank you in advance,
Alessandro

Hi Alessandro,
- Oldest compatible Windows Operative system version
FX3 can work fine with windows 7 OS.
-32 or 64 bit operative system, Processor & RAM
These parameters you have to select based on the multitasking you want to perfom along with the USB data transfer.
- Type of USB Port to use on PC
Use USB 3.0 port but it should not be only 3.0, it must have backward compatibility 2.0 protocols.
Thanks & Regards

Dear Abhinav,
Thanks for taking time to reply.
What would then be the optimal OS for the full exploitment of USB3.0 capabilities? 32 or 64 bit?
I am streaming data from an FPGA using the 'Streamer example' software.
Thank you again,
Alessandro Rossetta

Which application are you planning to use for streaming data. If your application supports 64 bit then go for 64 bit OS otherwise go for 32 bit.
Thanks & Regards
