USB low-full-high speed peripherals

I recently programmed a FX2 EZ-USB EEPROM with a firmware that had some warnings, mainly linking problems. Now the device is not recognized anymore by the computer; "unknown device".   
   
In that case, how can I reprogram the EEPROM with an old working firmware?

        Disable the EEPROM connect the device and then enable the eeprom and program it...

        But how can I disable the EEPROM if the device isn't even recognized by the computer?

        in the dvk they have switches to disable the EEPROM (hardware disabling)... are you using a custom board with no jumper or switch to disconnect the EEPROM from the i2c line????

        FX2LP if it finds a valid first byte it will load the EEPROM image... to stop that you'll have to take care that the EEPROM and FX2LP do not communicate during boot-up.... either remove the EEPROM from the line or manipulate the EEPROMs power or address lines....
