Hi,
we have purchased the CYUSBS234 Board to use it as a SPI-Slave which sends the SPI-Data from a SPI-Master via USB to our PC. Now we are wondering if we can configure it as a "Virtual COM Port" or only as a "USB vendor device". Is there a possibility to change from "CY765211" chip to the "CY7C65211A", maybe via jumpers or a diffrent configuration, as the data sheet points out that only the CY7C65211A chip can be configured as "Virtual COM port".
Kind regards,
Stefan

Hi Stefan,
Yes, only CY7C65211A chip can be configured as Virtual COM port for SPI protocol. We can't change from "CY765211" chip to the "CY7C65211A" via jumpers. It would be possible only with swapping silicon. You would need to purchase CY7C65211A part. Remove the CY7C65211 part from the DVK and solder it with CY7C65211A.
