USB hosts hubs transceivers Forum Discussions
Hello,
I was working with the CY8CKIT-049 prototyping kit when I suddenly got the Windows error message "USB Device not recognized: One of the devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned and windows does not recognize it." when trying to upload a new program using the USB-UART bridge and UART bootloader. I had been able to upload about four programs previously, but upon plugging in the device a fifth time, I received the above error message. I tried different USB ports and checking for drivers, but was unable to resolve the issue. The COM port no longer appeared in the bootloader host tool in PSoC Creator, and the USB-Serial Configuration Utility was not able to recognize it.
Upon further reflection, I think I may have shorted a couple pins on the target (which may have been the UART pins) when I was trying to upload a fifth time.
Is there some troubleshooting procedure I am missing? Or is the USB-Serial bridge toast and I should just buy a new one?
Thank You.
Show LessHi,
We are using USB 2.0 (embedded) host and connecting USB hub to it to stream video stream from 2 cameras.
1. When we use our USB 2.0 (embedded) host connected to quantum zero qz-hb03 hub and connect 2 FS (full speed) cameras to this, we can stream the video data - till maximum resolution VGA @ 30FPS.
2. Same thing when we replace with HX2VL-CY4608/CY4608M developer kit and 2 FS (full speed) cameras (USB 2.0 (embedded) host connected -> Cypress hub -> 2 FS cameras), we are limited to very less resolution (QCIF (176x144) @ 30FPS).
As our final product is based on cypress hub - wanted to know
a. Is there any setting that needs to be done with Cypress hub (any configuration etc)?
b. Is there any way we can find out the difference between Quantam hub (which is working) and Cypress hub?
c. I see the Cypress kit uses the EEPROM for configuration. Is there any specific tool that can be used to read the content and modify the content (if needed).
d. Is there any way we can find out the hubs are using STT (Single Transaction Translator) or MTT (Multi Transaction Translator) - as this may be affecting the functionality and performance.
Any other combination/ experiment can help us to debug this issue further and any pointers on this would help us to finalize the BOM and POC.
With best regards,
Phani.
Show LessHi , I have a question about the CY7C68013A Chip,it is working in Slave fifo mode.Because of the loosening of the USB interface,PC software disconnects USB connection。Especially,The power supply is open, but the USB line is disconnected,it is not possible to reconnect 2 times and receive data。I want to konw how to reconnect of the CY7C68013A and receive data?
Show LessI am using the HX3 HUB IC.
When I plug into USB 3 upstream and go into vendor mode, all Downstream port are grey out under the Blaster Plus program. If Iook under device manager, all I see is the USB 2.0 MTT driver. I never see the USB 3.0 Hub driver show up.
I have another card that is laid out the same and when I use Blaster Plus none of DS setting are grey out. I also see that the USB 3.0 HUB driver gets installed.
Has anyone ever seen this? Any input would be helpful.
Thanks!
Adrian
Show LessI'm unable to make UART serial communication with FX3. I tried UartLpRegMode example. When I single stepped through my code with a J-link segger debugger, I realized that rxTxByte is always zero and apiRetStatus is 69. I'm not getting anything on the serial terminal when I set to the baud rate I configured in the program. Tried putting some CyU3PDebugPrint statements, but nothing is getting printed. Even, after configuring the UART. Tried shorting TXD and RXD pins to see any loopback, but no improvements. Even manual values are not getting printed. I'm not sure, whether I'm running properly and testing. Any suggestions would be greatly helpful. Thanks for helping !
Show LessHello
Q1)Regarding the bMax-power, it is described on page 14 of the datasheet, but we are understanding that it is necessary to set the Maximum Power value for each connected "devices"?
If no, please tell me the details.
Q2-1) The default value is described as "32h(100 mA)", but please tell me the reason.
Q2-2)When powering HX2VL with self power, is it possible to change the bMax-power descriptor
information by themselves to FAh(500 mA)?If yes, is it possible to change the bMax-power value of EEPROM directly?
Best Regards

Show LessHello
Please tell me the state(CMOS output or Open drain or Hi-Z) of PWR#_I2C_SDA pin(26pin) during the following each operation period?
Case1: During Reset.
Case2:Immedietely after reset cancellation(Initial setting).
Case3:During I2C operation.
Case4:Transition period of I2C operation END to /PWR operation start.
Case5:Immedietely after /PWR operation is started(Initial setting)

Show LessHi,
I have a carrier board with touchscreen and SMARC connector. The touchscreen is connected via USB hub (USB2.0 full speed)
When I connect a SMARC module with SMSC2532 USB hub controller from Microchip and zap the touchscreen with ESD 8kV air discharge, I see no problem with the touch.
When I connect a SMARC module with CY7C65642 USB hub controller and perform the same ESD test, the touch screen stops working.
I could find the ESD performance of the microchip hub which conforms to JEDEC class 3A but I cannot find any information for the CY7C65642 hub controller.
Please guide.
Show LessHello, We have designed a hub based on the CYUSB3314 chip. The hub has failed USB compliance testing because the bcdUSB string returns 3.00 instead of 3.10. I see no way to change that in the configuration EEPROM. Does that mean this chip is now non-compliant for USB 3.1 Gen 1 certification? The USB.org has stopped the use of the USB 3.0 name and only uses USB 3.1 Gen 1 as the official designation. Could this be remedied in an HX3 firmware update?
regards,
Matt Knapp
