USB hosts hubs transceivers Forum Discussions
Hello, my lab has an older design for a digitizer which implements the CY7C65631 USB 2.0 Hub. Currently the Vcc, Self Power, /Reset and OVR pins are connected to the output of a 3.3V regulator. Unfortunately I need to increase the output of this regulator to 3.5V for reasons that have nothing to do with the Cypress CY7C65631 part. I have reviewed the data sheet for the part and see that the max supply voltage for operating conditions is 3.45V and the absolute maximum rating is 4.0V. Does operating at just outside the 3.45V range reduce the lifespan of the part? Since the applied voltage would still be < 4.0V I think we should be safe from risking an over voltage failure on the part? I am just trying to get a sense of the risk involved with operating the CY7C65631 part at 3.5V instead of 3.3V.
Thank you

Show LessHello everyone,
My name is Sunimal Perera what is the best programmer for CY7C67300.
Than you.
Hi Nilufar,
It should be possible with HX3PD on your custom board since the upstream port can be configured as a sink. But the CY6611 EVK doesnt have any consumer path so isnt capable of sinking current and providing the same on DS1.
Please refer to the EVK schematic where the 19V power adapter input is required to power the board as well as the DS1 PD regulator.
Best Regards,
Sananya
Dear Support and Expert
We have been using CYUSB3326-88LTXI on our product with external EEPROM.
Using the "Blaster Plus" program, we update the firmware and done it normally with the desktop.
(we received CYUBS3326-88LTXI (HX3 REV *D SILICON) and update with "ihx3_revb_b7.bin".)
And now, we are trying to change the desktop that is download the firmware.
After we change the desktop, we can't use the "Blaster Plus" Program.
So, we tested with another desktop. But it also failed.
We tested with same board which mount CYUSB3326-88LTXI and the same program, but test result was different.
(The desktops OS are not the same, but there are belonging with win7 or win 10.)
SOME SETTINGS HAVE TO BE CHANGED? or HOW WE CAN FIND THE ISSUE AND GET SOLUTION?
Please give me a advice. Thanks.
Lee.
Show LessHello,
I had another question regarding another post that I inquired about not long ago (link below):
For my application, I wanted to connect a USB Type-C receptacle to the CCG3PA for PD charging capability as well one of the downstream ports of the HX3 for USB 2.0/3.0 data. I originally wanted to retain legacy charging by connecting the Dp and Dm lines to both the CCG3PA as well as the HX3 since the CCG3PA has more charging profile capabilities. To reduce complexity, I decided to simply connect the Dp and Dm lines to the HX3 because BC1.2 and Apple Charging would suffice for the application. With this configuration, how would you recommend the downstream charging to be controlled considering that PD and legacy charging would be controlled by different devices?
Could I do any of the following:
- Supply legacy charging through a USB charging switch and supply PD charging through the CCG3PA and tie the USB Type-C receptacle's VBUS to both?
- Connect the HX3's DS1_PWREN and DS1_OVRCURR to the CCG3PA gpios (with modified firmware) so that the CCG3PA can act as the charging switch for legacy charging?
- If neither of these would work, what is the best way to retain both USB2.0 data as well as legacy charging functionality with the configuration described above?
Thanks in advance!
Chris

The EZ-USB HX3PD evaluation kit uses the NCP81239MNTXG to control the PD voltage delivered to the US and DS1 ports. Can this part be omitted such that 5VDC only is provided to the US and DS1 ports, and still be able to negotiate PD roles so that they US device can act as host while receiving power at 5VDC up to 3A? I want to make sure that eliminating this part and the higher voltage PD modes won't cause a problem with the PD role swap negotiations.

We use CY7C67300 for our product so how to programing in mass production and also read firmware code from it so, please guide us for this Issue and if programing tool available please share detail.
Show LessHello
Hi everyone,
I want to configure the DS-1 port of CY611 EZ-USB HX3PD EVK to supply 12V. But when I try to configure using EZ-USB HX3PD configuration Utility - PD Controller- Port 1, it shows me error - Atleast one 5V PDO should be enabled in Source PDO. But if add another source PDO of 5V, it does not save the configuration.
Can anyone help please ?
Thanks

Show LessHi,
I am using this kit. I want to configure the HUB Controller for configuring the DS1 port to provide 12V,3A source PDO. As per guidelines, only Cypress technical team can do that. Can you please help me with the same ?
Thanks!
