USB hosts hubs transceivers Forum Discussions
Hello,
I am a designer looking to use CY7C65634-28LTXCT in my design. The crystal is said to have a drive level with a minimum of 600uW. The crystal recommended by Cypress is ECS-120-20-4 which only has a drive level max of 500uW. I have seen support recommend adding a series resistor on XOUT to keep the drive level underneath the max of the crystal. Are there any recommended values for this or a way to calculate drive level with this added resistor? I am struggling to select this resistor for my design.
Thanks

Show LessHello,
We are currently working on a custom board using the HX3PD. We would like to disable the PD section of the HX3PD, tristate the VSEL_GPIO1 and VSEL_GPIO2 pins, and use PWREN_P1 and OVCUR_P1 to enable the USB power switch for the DS1 port and detect the overcurrent conditions respectively.
Can Cypress provide a binary with this functionality or a PSoC Creator project to enable building of custom images?
Thanks!

Hello all,
we are trying to design a USB-C powered device which will need more than 5V 3A of power. The PD communication and control will be handled by an external PD controller, but the USB data will be managed by HX3.
I am not so knowledgeable about the USB Billboard class requirements, but is an external billboard necessary if the HX3 is present?
Consider this example:
The device requires a 9V 3A PD contract for operation, but this can't be supplied by the host. Instead, the host negotiates a 5V 1.5A contract and the PD controller activates a GPIO indicating that a billboard device is required. Can the HX3 react to this GPIO and display the necessary information required by the USB standard to the host PC? If not, is an external billboard device required on one of the HX3 USB 2.0 ports for this?
Thank you!
Daniels
Hello
Q1) Please tell me recommended Pin connection if unused the following pins.
- OVR#-----Since it is an input terminal, is a pull-up connection good with a VCC power supply of 10 kΩ?)
- DownStream Port
Q2)
About SELFPWR pin. I am checkin the reference circuit (CY4606), there is a 10k Pulldown, 2.2uF capacitor, and 680Ω resistor. Could you briefly explain the reason why each is needed?
- 10k pull-down
- 2.2uF
- 680Ω
What are the tolerance specifications for the D+/D- Serial Termination resistors? We are restricted to use a 100ohm cable, and may be experiencing reflections due to the cable termination mismatches. What are the specifications for the upstream series termination resistors built into the device?
Show LessI am using CYUSB3328-88LTXC hub to connect with Jetson nano as HOST and and on the peripheral side it is Intel Real sense.
In default mode of operation, we are able to detect peripheral devices as USB2.0 but unable to detect USB3.0 peripherals.
I am attaching snapshots of schematic part. please help me to resolve this issue

I want to use CYUSB2304-68LTXI.
Is there information on recommended land patterns for this device?
Thank you,

i am using CY4609 reference design kit. i configured it on apple charging 2.1 A, but after connecting iPhone7 to this kit, it is only charging with 0.90 Amp. now i am connecting iphone 7 with the other Vendor's USB HUB this shows 1.66 Amp charging current. why i am facing such problem, please help me ? i am attaching snaps of charging current measurement for both the situation.
