USB hosts hubs transceivers Forum Discussions
I have the above schematic implemented. I changed the MODE_SEL resistors to put it into internal rom configuration. However, it is stuck with the suspend LED on, even when I try and plug into the US port. I am using USB 2.0 only.
Does internal ROM enable the usb 2.0 hub? Any idea based on my implementation why I can't get anything to happen when plugging into the US port?

Is it possible to use an crystal oscillator instead of crystal unit as the clock input for the HX3?
If it is possible, my understanding is that the oscillator is connected to XTL_IN and XTL_OUT is unconnected. Is it correct? And should I use a 1.2V oscillator?
Thanks,
Tetsuo
Hello,
I have a question about the external X-tal load capacitance for CY7C65631-56LTXI USB hub.
I have one or two downstream(thermal cam module or Iris AI module), and it is designed as a self powered mode.
I am using the Android system.
The product is assembled in one piece and is always connected.
I found a some issue that the USB hub is not recognized when booting for the first time.
Not all sets are like that, and it occurs in some samples. When resetting is added by host AP side, it is recognized, but there are some samples that are not.
So I was suspicious of the x-tal design side, so I checked the product specifications.
According to a document Number 001-52934 Rev. *J, there are only comment as below.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oscillator or Crystal Frequency (FOSC),
parallel resonant,
12-pF load capacitance, 0.5 mW ................ 24 MHz ± 0.05%
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Looking at the schematic of CY4606, it is used an eCERA's FX2400026 X-tal. Is it necessary to use only products with similar specs?
I am using the product as the attached document, but please check if there is a problem with the specification.
and an external capacitance is 18pF.
Thanks,
Jung
Show LessI would like to notify external logic when the CYUSB4357 Hub detects when the upstream USB3 link is in suspend. Can firmware assign a GPIO to signal when this happens?
Show LessHow can I replace an HX2VL, CY7C65632-28LTXC, with a HX3, CYUSB2304-68LTXI?
Is it possible to set PID or Maximum Power in ROM on HX3?
Configuration of the HX2VL is default, no EEPROM, which appears to match some defaults of HX3, but not all. VID and Port defaults appear to be the same. PID for HX2VL = 6570h and for HX3 = 6503h. I don't see Maximum Power report option in HX3. Maximum Power default is 100 (32h) in HX2VL.
Any help, words of wisdom or lessons learned on the effort to change from HX2VL to HX3 would be appreciated.
I'd prefer to NOT add a configuration EEPROM.

Hello
I am understanding that unused pins can be left unconnected. But , please let me know if there is any problem in the following cases.
Q1) If PORT4 is not used, is it okay to set the Fixed port (FIXED_PORT4: Pull up)?
Q2) If PORT4 is not used, should SET_PORT_NUM1 / 2 also be [NUM2: NUM1] = [0 (PD): 1 (PU)]?

Show LessDoes the CYUSB4357 Hub support Selective Suspend between the USB2 and USB3 channels? That is, are the active and suspend states of both USB2 and USB3 channels in the Hub treated together?
Case: If the Hubs upstream USB3 link is inactive but the USB2 link is active, and the host decides to put the USB3 link to sleep, will the USB2 link in the Hub stay in an active mode, or will the Hub keep the USB3 link up because the USB2 link is active. Visa-versa, if the Hubs upstream USB2 link is inactive and the USB3 link is active, and the host wants to put the USB2 link to sleep, will the USB3 link stay up, or will it also go into suspend mode, or will the Hub keep both links up because of the activity on the USB3 link?
Finally, I assume that if the Hub can treat the USB2 and USB3 link states separately, that it can also support putting the respective downstream ports to suspend state depending if the downstream ports are connected to USB2 or USB3 endpoints. Is that correct?
Hello
When using with SELFPOWER (ExternalPower), as shown in the figure of the data sheet, there is a description that the VCC pin is N.C.
Q) But, please tell me if there is no problem even if it is connected to the Vreg pin below.

Show LessHi,
Where can I get an OrCAD symbol and foot print for the CYUSB3304-BVXC?

To verify functionality of CYUSB2304-68LTXI, can either CY4609 aor CY4603 be used?
These kits appear to rely on the presence of USB 3.0. The CYUSB2304-68LTXI supports only USB 2.0.
