Hello,

We are facing some issues with the hub detection. We have used 2 CY7C65620 ICs in our system and connected the 2nd IC as a daisy chain with the first one(1st Downstream port of IC1 connected to the upstream port of IC2). The circuit works fine but sometimes the 2nd IC doesn't get detected by the system and we have to reset the board for the detection.

1. We have currently used the same reset circuitry with 100K pull-up with 0.1uf capacitor for both the ICs. Do we need to update it for the 2nd IC to increase the delay?

2. Do we need to pull up the OC3 and OC4 pull up to VCC? In the reference board, these pins are left floating

Also, I have one question regarding the inrush current. Currently, we are using the 120uf capacitor with an ESR value of 35mohm at the outputs. Can this cause an inrush current in the system?

Any other recommendation for this type of setup?

Thanks,

Hi,

-Kindly share the schematics if not confidential.

-Regarding Q(1), this seems fine.

- Regarding Q(2), Yes OC pins should be pulled up to VCC using a resistor.

- Does this issue occur on any other DS port of IC1 or any to the port in which IC2 is connected?

- Is it possible to share the USB logs when the issue occurs?

Regards,

Mallika
