Hi,
We are working with the CYUSB3014 chip and have some questions that we can not find answers to in the datasheet:
* What CTLE settings do the chip apply on RX?
* What settings of de-emphasis and output swing does the chip use on TX?
* Are these parameters adjustable and in that case, how?
Many thanks and hoping for quick response,

Hello,
In FX3, the fixed RX Equalization value is set to 4.

Hello Per,
* What settings of de-emphasis and output swing does the chip use on TX?
>> CyU3PUsbSetTxSwing() and CyU3PUsbSetTxDeemphasis() API can be used for setting TX swing and de-emphasis.You can refer to FX3 API Guide for more details on the API.
*Are these parameters adjustable and in that case, how?
>>From the FX3 API Guide:
The CyU3PUsbSetTxSwing() API sets the Tx amplitude range for the USB 3.0 signals.
The device has only been tested to work properly under the default swing setting of 0.9V (swing value set to 90). This API is expected to be called before calling the CyU3PConnectState() API to enable USB connections.
CyU3PUsbSetTxDeemphasis() API sets the Tx de-emphasis setting for the USB 3.0 signals. TX De-emphasis value should be less than 0x1F. The default value is 0x11. Please use this API with caution. This API is expected to be called before calling the CyU3PConnectState() API to enable USB connections
* What CTLE settings do the chip apply on RX?
>> Please let me know more about this requirement.
- Are you referring to the receiver equalization setting on the PHY?
- Please let me know why do you need these settings?

Rashi

Thanks for the information. This question still remains though:
* What CTLE settings do the chip apply on RX?
Thank you,

If we are to measure on the incoming datastream, we need to set CTLE value on the scope. It is supposed to be the same as the chip uses in order for us to see a true eye, as the chip receives it.
Please share what RX CTLE value the FX3 chip uses or if it negotiates this, where can it be read.
Cheers,
Jonas
