I have a unique-ish proof of concept I'd like to demonstrate with the CCG4 Evaluation kit but
I have had no luck with EZ-PD configuration utility.
I would like to attach a self-powered peripheral to J2 of the eval board and a USB-C connected
tablet to the USB-C connector J3. I would like the eval board to provide power to the tablet (serve
as DFP PD role) but at the same time, allow the tablet to serve as USB host so that it can detect the
peripheral on J2 (serve as DFP data role).
As of now, I can only do one or the other:
1) With the eval board providing power, the tablet charges as expected but does not enumerate my peripheral on J2.
2) With the tablet powering the eval board, it successfully enumerates the peripheral on J2.
How can I achieve this using EZ-PD configuration Utility? I've played around with several settings (ie, making the eval
board a SOURCE only) but that has not worked.
Do I have to alter the firmware to achieve this? Where would I begin?
Show LessNow I design a type c to displayport with CCG3 devices,and I use a 4:6 switch(parade:ps8742B) .
I'm not sure how to control the characteristic impedance of the SSRX1±、SSRX2±、SSTX1±、SSTX2± ,because these signals may carry usb_ss signal or
displayport signal, usb_ss signal characteristic impedance is usually controlled to 90ohm,whereas displayport is usually controlled to 100ohm.
Show LessWithout any modification, the CYPD4225-40LQXI_notebook project does not compile and generates a linker script error:
Build error: error: lto-wrapper failed: cm0gcc.ld
I am using PSoC creator 4.2
There were a few other errors but I was able to clear them up by updating the components.
I found this KBA but I am not sure it applies to the specific CCG4 chip on the evaluation board:

I own a Cable Matters 201046 (USB-C Multiport Adapter with 4K 60Hz DisplayPort), but since I'm experiencing issues with power delivery I'm trying to update the firmware as per the Cable Matters KB article #103.
However, I can not get the adapter to run in ‘update mode’. I have installed the Cypress Configuration Utility, run it, plug in the adapter without PD, and then it simply gets recognized as USB adapter, not as 'USB BRIDGE'.
Some things I've tried to solve the issue:
- Run the Configuration Utility as Administrator (as opposed to no elevation)
- Connect the adapter with PD (as opposed to without)
- Connect the adapter with an USB device attached (as opposed to without)
- Connect the adapter on both USB2 and USB3 ports
- Connect the adapter to multiple Windows 10 x64 machines
- Update the Configuration Utility to the latest version via the built-in update manager
I expect the Configuration Utility to not intercept the adapter connecting and instructing the bootloader to start in 'update mode', but I'm unable figure out how to fix please. As such, I'm kindly requesting your assistance.

上記設定のBCRと、27W出力(15V/1.8A出力出せる電源)のソースとType-C接続した場合について教えて下さい。
Q1)ソース側のパワールールの電流は無視し、15V/3Aのリクエストを投げる動作を行う?※1.8Amaxを無視してSinkPDOで設定した設定値のリクエストを投げる。
もしくは、BCRからのリクエストは、ソース側の、SourceCapabiltyObjectの種類からどのオブジェクト選ぶかとういう動作になりと思われますので、15V/1.8Aで設定しているオブジェクトをリクエストするだけとなる理解ですが正しいでしょうか?Q2)仮に、ソース27Wに対して15/3Aのリクエストを投げた場合、ソースの作り次第で、15Vが出てきてしまう可能性はありますでしょうか?
Q3)電圧設定に対しても上記電流と同じで、15V非対応のソースにもリクエストは出す仕様なのでしょうか?
