USB EZ-PD™ Type-C Forum Discussions
Hi,
I would like you to have a look at following schematics and review/criticize/recommend.
It will be a UFP device with TFT-LCD display and buttons. Some blocks/components are displayed black, I don't know why.
Thanks.
Show LessHello
I have some questions.
Now
I have a CY4532 EZ-PD CCG3PA.
I can update the firmware using the EZ-PD Configuration Utility.
I can use the output of the C-port and A-port using the EZ-PD Configuration Utility.
Questions
1. Can I share the output of C-port and A-port using the EZ-PD Configuration Utility?
ex) Single use: C-port (30W), A-port (0W)
C-port (0W), A-port (18W)
Multi use: C-port (18W), A-port (18W)
2. If possible, what features should I use in the EZ-PD Configuration Utility?
Can you help me?
Show LessHow can a person determine which Bootloader (CC or I2C) is pre-installed on any specific CCGx component?
Cypress had attempted to create a table indicating which Bootloader was installed with “CCGx Programming Methods - KBA97271” @ https://community.cypress.com/docs/DOC-10128. There’s two issues with that approach:
- YiZ_31 declared KBA97271 obsolete, “KBA97271 is a obsolete KBA, and we are going to remove it from our website.” Reference https://community.cypress.com/message/210685
- The Application names in KBA97271 don’t match the Application names in the datasheet. Specifically, which parts are delivered from the factory with the CC Bootloader installed?

Show LessHello All / RajathB_01,
I've to configure ccg3pa to respond with NAKs for DiscID packets initiated by the DUT.
Is it possible to do in Ez-PD configuration utility or Do we need to tweak the ccg3pa SrcCode ?
If so can anyone help me with the steps to respond with NAK for VDM packets .
Thanks in Advance!
Regards,
Pranay.
PDO1: 5V3A
PDO2: 9V1.1A→9V1Aに変更
PDO3: 9V2A
変更後
PDO0: 5V3A
PDO1: 5V1.5A
PDO2: 9V2A
PDO3: 9V1A
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
The order of PDOs may not be exactly the same as my settings and may change.
Are there any rules?
Is there a file dependency?
[procedure]
- After setting the PDO current and voltage with the Configuration Utility, save it to .cyacd.
- Open the .cyacd.
- The order changes.
It changes as follows.
[Before change / Changes]
PDO0: 5V2A (change to 5V1.5A)
PDO1: 5V3A
PDO2: 9V1.1A (changed to 9V1A)
PDO3: 9V2A
After change
PDO0: 5V3A
PDO1: 5V1.5A
PDO2: 9V2A
PDO3: 9V1A
Show LessHi,
I'm planing to start the project with CCG3pa. firstly, I need to know how to handle PSoC Creator to generate binary file for my project.
So I've downloaded CCGx Power SDK and install PSoC Creator 4.2. and open CYPD3171-24LQXQ_pb project file to check the code sizes.
After building the project, I can see the binary file which is "CYPD3171-24LQXQ_pb.cyacd". this size is 128Kb. even hex file size is 144Kb.
I'm confused with this size, because CCG3PA has only 64Kb flash and 8Kb sram.
So I'd like to know how to check the real code size after compiling project.
because I will write more code inside this project, I should make sure it will be good enough with this 64Kb flash.
Thanks,
Luke.
Show LessI am trying to use CCG3PA (CYPD3175) with DisplayPort functionality. I have modified the profile in EZ-PD Configuration Utility to have the CYPD3175 to be a power source and a data role swap occurs so that the data port is UFP.
I then offer the SVID of 0xFF01 for DisplayPort. The sink will then sent an Enter Mode Request and the source will reply with a NAK. What modifications to the FW do I need to make in order to send an ACK instead?
Show LessHello Cypress team,
What is the current drive capability of the FAULT pin on the CYPD3177 BCR chip when drive a HIGH value in case of a fault condition.
I did not find a specification in the datasheet.
Thanks and best regards,
- Wolfgang.
