USB EZ-PD™ Type-C Forum Discussions
Could someone point me in the direction/documentation/example projects of implementing a custom alt mode, particularly in how the DFP initiates entering the mode, preferably automatically after the PD contract finishes negotiating. Taking a look at the "cy_alt_mode" gave me some clues as to the implementation requirements, but beyond defining the SVID, adding it to the al_modes_config.h along with callbacks, and editing the config.c (via the EZ-PD Config Utility)... what more needs implementing?
The UFP is based of the Power Bank project and the DFP is based off the Adapter project, if that matters.
Thanks kindly,
Nathan
Power Adapter FW (PA) run on CYPD3171-24LQXQ
CCG3PA Power Adapter with Direct Feedback Control run on CYPD3175-24LQXQ
1 ) does Power Adapter FW (PA) demo is similar to CCG3PA Power Adapter with Direct Feedback Control example ?
2) CYPD3171-24LQXQ vs CYPD3175-24LQXQ how to compare this chips or it just hw configuration ?
3) could i run CCG3PA Power Adapter with Direct Feedback Control project on CY4532 EZ-PD™ CCG3PA Evaluation Kit?

Show LessHow to enable FRS using Dock SDK??
Hello All,
In our processor board, they used the normal power supply input connector.
We want to replace with USB Type C Power supply input connector.
Our processor has the below things:
1. USB 3.0 Host controller
2. USB 2.0 Host controller
To get the USB Type-C power input, What kind of supports are needed from Processor chip?
We want to confirm that we can use the USB Type-C Power input to this processor?
What are the details/points to check for USB Type-C support in this processor side, i.e.
This processor is compatible for USB Type-C Power supply input.
Please provide your ideas.
After this, need to choose the chip.
-Thanks.

Hello !
Please tell me a few things about EMCA.
・Cypress EMCA products are available for active cables. What is the difference between the two?
(CMG1,CCG2)
・There are two writing methods,SWD and CC.Which is the recommended method for EMCA?
(Does it generally need to be designed to handle both?)
・I found out that in another thread,if I need a custom EMCA FW,I need to contact the agency.
When is there no need for custom?
(I want a list of default specifications)
Best Regards
Koji
Show LessI noticed that when I use CY4521 as a source and configure the corresponding PDOs as {5,9,15,20}V / 3A it is still possible to draw 5A. Shoudn't there be a limiting instance to comply with USB-PD? What does the over current protection U4 etc. do on the EVK?

Show LessHai,
We have a USB Type C MUX IC connected to US 3.0 Lines and DP lines, to control that we need a type C alternate mode/PD controller. We are not using any power deliver option. Is there any controller with the options given below? can some one suggest one?
Things required:
CC1/CC2 - IP from the type C connector
FLIP GPIO - to know the orientation of the connector
Alternate Mode GPIO - to know whether USB mode or DP Mode
HPD GPIO - HPD output for Dispalyport controller
Show LessHi
I saw a datasheet of CY4532 evaluation board.
It has CCG3PA chip for PD controller.
The datasheet explained that it supports 9V 3A for PD.
Is CCG3PA can't support 20V PD? if not, why CY4532 eval board didn't support 20V?
please answer me.
Thanks
