UFP and Sink Chip for Type-C PD and Display Design

Hello.

I am developing Microdisplay with USB-C port (based on CCG3). The display should act as UFP and Sink, it can be powered and receive Display-data through the C-port of the laptop.

Is there a specific chip that acts only as UFP and Sink, or do I have to buy the DRP chip and then program or configure it?

Thank you for posting in infineon community.

Our CCG3 is user programmable according to the application needs. but we dont have specific IC for the application which you are looking.

you can configure the CCG3 chip as UFP and Sink role using Psoc creator or EZ-PD configuration utility.

we have also provided USB-C to DP sample program for the reference.

可以直接选择CYPD3120，这颗芯片是由Infineon已经预先烧录好固件，并且对应的是UFP和Sink。当然，如果你想再进行配置，也是可以的。CYPD3120这颗芯片内置Billboard，并且提供USB bootloader，可以在使用Infineon的Ez-PD configuration Utility进行参数或者固件升级。

Hello Yaodong,

Billboard 可以简单的看成Alternate Mode设备（UFP）的身份信息的USB2.0设备。Billboard的信息构架与USB2.0 设备基本一致，当Alternate Mode进入失败，Billboard一定需要被枚举，以便进行设备状态查询，reset，更新。
