We are designing our own version of the CY4531 eval kit. I found firmware for the CYPD3125 USB-C chip, but I didn't see any for the CY7C65215 I2C-to-USB bridge chip. Does that chip require firmware, or does it come from the factory with the correct firmware/setup needed to work with the CYPD3125?

Hi,
If you are planning to use CY7C65215 part as I2C-USB bridge you will have to configure this part. This by default is configured as USB-UART bridge. Please check this part datasheet where it explains the Utility required and how to configure this part. https://www.infineon.com/dgdl/Infineon-CY7C65215_USB-Serial_Dual_Channel_(UART_I2C_SPI)_Bridge_with_...
We also have CY7C65216D part which is pre-configured as USB-I2C Master, You can use that directly in your design.

Thanks for your help! We used the CY7C6215 on our board. I was able to save the config from the CY4531 eval kit and download it to my board.
