Base on application note mention "The dead battery Rd resistors are disabled by the application firmware once the device is powered up."

But we want to disable as early as before power up.

Could you have any suggestion?

Hi Mitchell,

Unfortunately, the dead battery Rd resistors can only be disabled through FW, that is after power up.

Possible to switch the part number to CCG5 without Rd_db, eg. CYPD5137?

No, parts number can't be change, this is TBT host design & already get certification from Intel.

We just observe minor GPIO strong driver issue during dead battery condition.

Let me know whether the issue get resolved or not.

Maybe you can tell what the 'minor GPIO strong driver issue' specifically refer to.

Hi Fred,

The condition is on dead battery mode when CCG6 get VBUS power with Rd.

SWDIO will driver high untill fw config GPIO set to low.

Due to the SWD pin also for programming use.

Maybe it is normal behaviors on this pin.

Need your help to clarify.

Thanks,

Mitchell

Mitchell,

it looks the SWDIO strong drive issue occurred a little while during the device power up. How many boards you have tested with this issue?

I wonder the relationship between the Rd and this issue. Can you clarify more?
