My company is designing our own version of the CY4531 EVK. We will use the same CY7C65215 chip as the USB-to-I2C bridge to program the CCG3 chip. I assume the CY7C65215 needs a particular firmware loaded to support the CCG3, but I can't find any information about that the in EVK design documents. I also can't find any information on how to load the CY7C65215 with firmware. I don't have much experience with Cypress micros, so any information would be helpful.

Hello TonyG,
Thank you for posting on Infineon Community.
The CY7C65215 device is a fixed function part, therefore the firmware cannot be changed by the customer.
Instead, the device configuration can be changed using the USB-Serial configuration utility.
You can access this and more in the SDK link:
https://www.cypress.com/documentation/software-and-drivers/usb-serial-software-development-kit
In order to get the exact configuration for the CCG3 EVK, you could read the config of a standard CY4531 EVK and then apply said configuration to your CY7C65215.
Best regards,
Pablo
